Is $500,000 Enough to Cover Your Fees When You’re Honored?
The right-wing rag The New York Times, in their ongoing quest to bring about a Republican Dynasty, has another story about the Clinton Foundation. Here are excepts from yesterday’s article:
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 2004 10th anniversary of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, Petra Nemcova, a Czech model who survived the disaster by clinging to a palm tree, decided to pull out all the stops for the annual fund-raiser of her school-building charity, the Happy Hearts Fund. The gala cost $363,413. But the real splurge? Bill Clinton.
The former president of the United States agreed to accept a lifetime achievement award at the June 2014 event after Ms. Nemcova offered a $500,000 contribution to the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation. The donation, made late last year after the foundation sent the charity an invoice, amounted to almost a quarter of the evening’s net proceeds—enough to build 10 preschools in Indonesia.
You’d think the words “Czech model” would have been sufficient to lure Bill to the event, but amazingly, he wanted more. To get him to an event where he’d be presented with a mug that said, “World’s Swellest Guy,” he needed a different kind of check, one amounting to half of what Dr. Evil asked for not blowing up the world. We’d hate to see the money wasted on schools when CEO Donna Shalala would know so much better how to use it.
But sadly, not every charity can afford Bill, especially if his ball and chain winds up in the White House. So many charities need to find others on whom to bestow honors. Maybe they could honor you? Frankly, I’d go for less than Bill’s fee. If there’s any charity that needs to honor someone for an evening, I’m willing to do it for an airline ticket, $1,000, and all the Dr. Pepper I can drink.
As a public service, let’s make this post into a bulletin board for charities. What’s your set fee to be honored as “Person of the Year,” “Lifetime Achievement,” or “Most Likely to Succeed”? Say, Mac and Wally: How much would you charge to be honored by the Humane Society?

Oh my, I keep thinking the Clinton cabal can sink no lower and then it does! The pit is apparently bottomless.

To say nothing of the wallet in the front of his pants. Is that a Foundation cheque? or are you just happy to see me.
So how many preschools DID the CF build in Indonesia with this money?
Just when you think Bubba cannot possibly get any slimier, he proves once again the Clinton abyss is a bottomless pit.
Since it’s such a good cause and all, I’m totally willing to accept such an award for a paltry 50 grand.
Being a good capitalist and believing in competition, I will accept the award for $45k. Will that get me the gig?

Grasshopper, this is deal-making 101: never accept the first offer; it always can be improved.
I, on the other hand, would be most honored to accept half a mil dollars. And the organization so honoring me wouldn’t at all have to sweeten the deal by throwing in one of their precious lifetimes of achievement certificates. Because I’m easy-going like that, and I don’t always hold out for more.

Here is how we can stop Hillary from actually running for the White House: Have Congress pass a law that makes it illegal for elected officials or their immediate family from accepting speaking fees while in office and for 10 years after leaving office.
Oh Wait…
That can’t pass because Congress is just as guilty in cashing in on their elected office during and after their terms in office.
That was one reason why Romney was a good choice for president. He already had all the money he needed or wanted, making him immune to the crass favor for cash trading exhibited by the Clintons.
