Trump’s Troubling Response, The ‘But Obama’ Defense, Media Misdirection

David French of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America address the horrific violence in Charlottesville over the weekend. David and Greg criticize President Trump’s failure to condemn the specific white supremacist and Neo-Nazi groups that led the marches and the connection of the man who committed the vehicular homicide– particularly when the president has a history of getting specific with other targets. They also groan as far too many on the right deflect from President Trump’s stumbles by pointing out egregious mistakes President Obama made along similar lines – mistakes the same people roundly condemned. And they ridicule the news media for grossly manipulating terrorism statistics to suggests right-wingers kill more Americans than Islamic radicals and for relying on the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center to decide who is a right-wing extremist.

EdwardsThe Guardian is reporting that the Trump campaign provided VIP access to James Edwards of Political Cesspool and Donald Trump, Jr. has granted a radio interview with Edwards, who was permitted to broadcast from within a VIP area at a recent Trump event. From the article:

Donald Trump Jr, the eldest son of the Republican presidential frontrunner and one of his political surrogates, has granted a 20-minute radio interview to a prominent white supremacist who broadcasts what has been dubbed as “the primary radio nexus of hate in America”.

The younger Trump will be featured as guest of honor in Saturday’s broadcast of the Political Cesspool, according to the producers of the three-hour program that lists among its objectives, “to grow the percentage of Whites in the world relative to other races.” The show is presented by James Edwards, an avowed white nationalist who is pro-slavery and whose previous guests include the former grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke as well as a raft of Holocaust deniers and neo-Nazis.
