Contributor Post Created with Sketch. Valerie Plame Lies About Scooter Libby, Drives Camaro Backwards in New Campaign Ad

Democrat Valerie Plame released a very slickly produced but factually inaccurate video today in her bid for Congress in New Mexico’s open 3rd congressional district. In the video, Plame claims, “I was an undercover CIA operative… then Dick Cheney’s Chief of Staff took revenge against my husband and leaked my identity. His Name? Scooter Libby. Guess who pardoned him last year?” A picture of President Trump is then displayed in the video.

Plame is lying. Scooter Libby did not leak her name. Richard Armitage, a deputy secretary of state under Colin Powell, leaked her name. This is not a theory. Armitage admitted that he leaked her name. This has been public knowledge since at least September 8, 2006, when the Washington Post published an article titled, “Armitage Says He Was Source of CIA Leak.”

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America welcome the news that Scooter Libby, the chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, may soon be pardoned by President Trump and have his convictions from the Valerie Plame fiasco scrubbed from the record. Jim and Greg don’t excuse Libby’s conduct in the investigation but point out there never should have been an investigation since there was no underlying crime. They also roll their eyes as excerpts from James Comey’s new book slam Trump as being shorter than expected, wearing his ties too long and using tanning goggles, while Trump tweets that Comey is an “untruthful slimeball.” And they react to Comey’s admission that he revealed the re-opening of the Hillary Clinton email probe because he was sure she would win the election anyway and might not have done so if he thought Trump could actually win.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are glad to see former UN Ambassador Samantha Power exposed for egregious “unmasking” of Americans detected on foreign surveillance, including a huge number just prior to President Trump’s inauguration. They also cast a skeptical eye upon North Korea’s threat to detonate a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific Ocean, but note the troubling impact it would have on the area and the prospects for war. And they express disgust as former CIA operative and liberal media darling Valerie Plame tweets out a story blaming “America’s Jews” for America’s Wars and suggesting American Jews recuse themselves from Middle East policy and be identified as Jews when speaking on television. They also roll their eyes at her pathetic explanation and wonder how her attitude played into her controversy at the outset of the Iraq War.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America serve up all crazy martinis today. They slam ESPN for hitting a new politically correct low by replacing the play-by-play announcer because his name is Robert Lee, a man of Asian heritage who has no connection whatsoever to the Confederate general. They also slam both President Trump and the media for making outlandish accusations about the other in public when both sides have plenty of legitimate fodder to use. And they dismiss Valerie Plame’s billion-dollar crowdfunding effort to buy Twitter and close Trump’s account as nothing more than a quick money grab.
