My youngest son started to complain about a fever last weekend, He’s only 15, so COVID wasn’t the first thing on our minds. It was just a fever, no other symptoms, so we didn’t give it much thought. It stuck around, though, so last Tuesday, we had him tested for the virus. And it came […]

I have been a big vaccine enthusiast. Trump did an awesome job getting the pharmaceutical industry to create and produce vaccines in record time and in vast quantities. They are wonderfully effective. Both my wife and I are vaccinated despite the fact that we both had Covid last summer. It would be my hope that […]

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer the failure of the Neera Tanden nomination for the Office of Management and Budget. They also welcome strong vaccination numbers in Texas, which makes Gov. Abbott’s decision to open the state 100 percent a pretty safe move. They also welcome the notion of allowing people to make their own decisions. And they cringe as the number of newborns in the U.S. after nine months of the pandemic were disturbingly low.

Anti-Vaccine Moms are Risking Children’s Lives

In 1956, an infant contracted whooping cough. It was agonizing for the family to watch a child suffer through this illness. She was so sick one day that her parents had to call the fire department; they were able to revive her and likely saved her life. Even though the study that made this claim was debunked, the lie has remained alive. Now we have children coming down with measles currently at alarming levels, because so many children have not been vaccinated:

Forgive me if I’m stating the obvious, but I just realized exactly what Donald Trump is. He is not Tea Party.  He is not establishment.  He is not a Democrat.  He is probably not a white supremacist.  I think he is a nationalist, but we can be more specific than that.  He is a nationalist […]

The Vaccine Question

Update: At this hour Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Scott Walker, and George Pataki (with a great response by the way) have spoken out in favor of vaccination, full stop. No responses yet from Bush, Huckabee, and Santorum.

If you followed me on Twitter today, you saw my largely unbounded anger at Chris Christie for giving exactly the wrong answer on the question of childhood vaccinations, and for opening up an issue harmful not just to the GOP, but to society as a whole.

On Individual Liberty and Vaccinations — Troy Senik

Here in Nashville for a couple of weeks — the closest thing I have to therapy — I’ve been perusing the local press, partially as a means of playing one of my favorite games: “Spot the Contrast with California.”

It takes only one item to underscore the difference. The big economic fight right now in Tennessee — a state that already has no general income tax and is in the process of phasing out its estate tax— is whether the Hall Tax, a levy on income from stocks and bonds, is also destined for repeal. We’re not in Los Angeles anymore, Toto.
