After a brief venting about the inability of people in Washington to deal with winter and their instinct to turn their misery into some sort of imaginary historical event, Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America applaud the results of a Government Accountability Office report showing that all 72 attempts to privately purchase a firearm were rejected once the seller discovered the supposed buyer was legally prohibited from owning a gun.  They also shake their heads as Oprah Winfrey’s well-received speech at the Golden Globes immediately prompts serious talk of her running for president in 2020.  And they are less than impressed with both Jake Tapper and Stephen Miller after their Sunday morning interview devolves into shouting and controversy later ensues over whether Miller was escorted off the set after Tapper abruptly ended the interview.

Guy Buys Movie Ticket, Internet Outraged

A Brooklyn movie theater recently scheduled a special screening of Wonder Woman open only to women. Cinema/dining chain Alamo Drafthouse said on their website, “Apologies, gentlemen, but we’re embracing our girl power and saying ‘No Guys Allowed’ for several special shows at the Alamo Downtown Brooklyn. And when we say ‘Women (and people who identify as women) only,’ we mean it.”

Movie fan (and my Conservatarians podcast partner-in-crime) Stephen Miller decided he wanted to see a new superhero flick, so he bought a ticket online. Upon sharing this rather mundane act, the Internet exploded, as is its wont.

Stephen Miller: Tracked and Targeted

The latest Trump team member in the media crosshairs is White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller (not to be confused with Ricochet’s Conservatarian co-host or that ’70s joker, smoker, and midnight toker). Miller was one of the chief architects of the travel ban. To be kind, most feel President Trump’s bungled executive order temporarily banning travel from seven Muslim-majority countries was a public relations and logistical faux pas. Subsequently, Miller’s teleprompter-like Sunday morning news interviews were cringe-worthy and are now the likely low hanging fruit for upcoming SNL hazing.
