Loaded for Bear, or How Moms Take Back Our Country

You’ve heard how parents having been fighting back at some school board meetings to take back the rearing and education of their children. Now Florida has set a new standard for fighting back, and it’s spreading all over the country. The message it is sending is more than a shot over the bow to angry Progressives. This exciting movement is called Moms for Liberty.

The group was started by Tiffany Justice and Tina Descovich, and they began their efforts fighting mask mandates. When those goals were pretty much met with the help of Gov. Ron DeSantis, they started to go after books they called pornographic, as well as books that discussed gay and transgender questions, such as “Gender Queer.” Their message is being heard not only all over the state but all over the country. Currently, they have 60,000 members in 152 chapters in 33 states. Chapter locations can be found here.

It’s not surprising that Progressives are upset at their efforts and are pushing back:

McCauliffe Affirms School Signs

Ballot boxThe Virginia gubernatorial race will be over, plus or minus the stuffed ballot boxes, Tuesday, November 2. In the closing week, it appeared the electorate was shifting towards the Republican candidate, Glenn Youngkin. To the extent the shift was real, it was driven by the veteran Democrat hack Terry McAuliffe saying the quiet part out loud on education. His statement, in a late September debate, hurt him in the polls, but he has doubled down in the closing days of the election. Contrast this with his shift away from trying to make the election about President Trump. Is this a sign his campaign is confident the fix is in, that they have secured the margin of cheating?

In the September 28 debate, McAuliffe addressed school curricula and parental voice, a hot issue:

“I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out and make their own decision,” McAuliffe said. “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim.  Today, Jon and Greg welcome polls showing just a 4-6 point lead for the Democrat in the New Jersey governor’s race. They also have plenty to say as emails show the National School Board Association and the Biden administration were in contact well before the NSBA publicly asked for the administration’s help in declaring parents domestic terrorists and the Justice Department turned the FBI loose on those same parents. And they have fun with the argument from some on the left that trees need legal rights.

We’ve seen more double standards from our political elite over the past two years than the past 20 or more combined, from “rules for thee not for me” politicians like California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-French Laundry) to President Joe Biden calling Georgia’s fair election reform laws “Jim Crow on steroids” while his home state of […]

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer on the resolve of Taiwan’s president and people in the face of growing Chinese threats. They also have questions as Attorney General Merrick Garland announces the FBI will start investigating alleged threats made against school officials in highly charged debates around the country. And they sigh as Dr. Fauci gives contradictory answers on whether he recommends people visit with family over the holidays and the CDC comes out with absurd guidelines for celebrating Thanksgiving.

On this episode of “The Federalist Radio Hour,” concerned mother Nicole Solas joins Staff Writer Jordan Davidson to discuss how she’s fighting back against her local school district and the nation’s largest teachers union, which are both determined to indoctrinate her kindergarten daughter with critical race theory and radical gender ideology.

On this episode of “The Federalist Radio Hour,” Laura Zorc, director of education reform at FreedomWorks and executive director at Building Education for Students Together, joins Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky to discuss how parents can mobilize to hold their school boards accountable for allowing racist curriculum, radical gender theory, and politically motivated mask mandates in classrooms.

Join Jim and Greg as they celebrate two Republicans reaching the runoff for an open congressional seat in Texas and parents fighting back against the “anti-racism” push in school board races. They also applaud Sen. Joe Manchin for opposing the lefty push for D.C. statehood. And they discuss the Biden administration’s efforts to ban menthol cigarettes in an effort to protect minority communities and the fierce opposition from the ACLU and others who argue it will only create more criminals.
