I nearly spilled my coffee on the rug while watching the Stanley Cup Final last night.  Ricochet’s own Pat Sajak was wearing a Washington Capitals polo and announcing the starting lineups. So sad.   Imagine if you were watching Seinfeld on TV and you see Rob Long in the credits as a show-runner?  Or perhaps listening […]

Ricochetti Adventures in Vegas and LA

I previously posted about our hot weekend (113°F) in Vegas at FreedomFest 2017 whilst interviewing a treasure trove of luminaries, but I left off details and photos of our two meet ups from the weekend. The first, on Friday night was hosted by @addictionisachoice:

@cowgirl and Addiction Is a Choice are in the rear of the photo, with virtuoso pianist Hyperion Knight to the right of him, then me, @nicegrizzly, and @Whiskeypolitics Dave. On the other side of the table, @docjay is seated next to Cowgirl, and next to him we have three guests who will be joining Ricochet soon: Garin Bader, fantastic magician and pianist who performs regularly and is a friend of Hyperion’s, and Nancy and her daughter, Sarah.

Peter Robinson 30 Years After “Mr. Gorbachev, Tear Down This Wall”

On this special 50th episode of Whiskey Politics, we are honored to welcome Peter Robinson, Speechwriter to President Ronald Reagan. Among hundreds of other speeches, Peter is now celebrating the 30th anniversary of the history-making Brandenburg Gate speech where against advice from the White House, State Department, and Germans, President Reagan called on General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev to “tear down this wall!” We discuss this pivotal moment in history, the relationships with Margaret Thatcher and Milton Friedman and his upcoming Ricochet and Uncommon Knowledge interview with Pat Sajak at the Reagan Library.

Over at RicochetMeetup.com you can view some pictures and read a very brief description of our wonderful meetup in Simi Valley this weekend, hosted by David Sussman.  David will flesh out all the details shortly ( I see he has beat me to it!),  but I wanted to sing his praises first, noting that he […]

Musings from a first time Ricochet Meetup planner – The idea of putting together a Ricochet MeetUp elicited many questions: Would anyone show up? Beyond avatars and pseudonyms, who are these people? Will we all get along? Would some tin foil nutter appear and create havoc? Why did the creator of Family Ties name his dog […]

As the speed of the Member Feed is outdone only by how fast Hillary’s poll #’s sink, I will intermittently remind folks about the Ricochet Meetup on Oct 3rd at the Reagan Presidential Library. –   Please see the OP for more details and hope to see you at the Conservative promised land!  https://youtu.be/UOaXTNVimJI Preview Open

When one lacks organizational skills, as I do – mine’s limited to barking orders delegating from my desk in between naps – the last thing I should do is schedule a Ricochet Meetup. Then Melissa (6foot2inhighheels) and I discussed getting a SoCal group together and after some consternation, I realized there isn’t much to organize! Ricochetti are a resourceful bunch […]
