A Slip Twixt the Cup and the Lip? [Updated]


dumpster fire tweetsThis is not good at all. President Trump unleashed a series of tweets that have cut short the story about Democrats self-destructing, making him and us the targets now. I don’t know how he’s going to dig himself out of his false claim that any of the “’Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen,” other than Ilhan Omar, came from another country.

Jim Justice’s decision to flip to the Republican Party, giving the GOP control of the governor’s office in 35 states.  They also wade through the implications of Special Counsel Robert Mueller creating a grand jury for his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 campaign.  And they unload on former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz for her shameful efforts to protect herself and her former IT staffer from a criminal investigation by alleging anti-Muslim bias by the FBI.

Democrats Shuffle Their Deck of Race Cards


Faced with a deeply unpopular President and a potential GOP wave, Democrats are digging deep to motivate their lackadaisical base. As always, the most prominent play is the race card.

In North Carolina, fans of incumbent Senator Kay Hagan are passing out disturbing fliers in African-American neighborhoods. “Kay Hagan Doesn’t WIN! Obama’s IMPEACHMENT Will Begin! Vote in 2014” says the text, which is printed over a photo of a white crowd lynching a black man.
