The claim often heard from those attempting to pass more gun control legislation is that all they’re trying to do is get the “weapons of war off our streets,” but it’s simply untrue that “weapons of war” are available to the general public. You’d last about three minutes in a conventional war with an AR-15, even with one of the most aggressive builds you can get your hands on (that doesn’t mean it’s impossible for guerilla uprisings to defeat powerful enemies). The truth is that the only people with “weapons of war” on America’s streets are, increasingly, the police.

Thanks primarily to the Pentagon’s 1033 program which allows law enforcement agencies to get their hands on Department of Defense technology and the Bush-era War on Terror, American police have received a startling amount of heavy-duty, military-grade hardware. Between 1998 and 2014, the dollar value of military hardware sent to police departments skyrocketed from $9.4 million to $796.8 million.

On June 30th New York’s city council voted to cut nearly $484 million from the NYPD’s annual $6 billion budget and shift funding to other agencies as well as youth and social services programming.

According to a USA Today summary, “the changes will cancel a nearly 1,200-person police recruiting class set for next month (though another class in October is scheduled to go forward), curtail overtime spending and shift school safety, crossing guards and homeless outreach away from the NYPD.” (emphasis mine)

So a few hours ago, I was sitting with friends and finishing my drink in their backyard after a long evening of BBQ, and a girl rushes into the yard. “Sorry to bother you, but someone’s house is on fire!”

We quickly headed to the street, where across the street flames rumbled up from the attic. Two different people were calling 911, while the gal who informed us ran over and started banging on the door and windows. I ran to the side where there was a garden hose, but it’s not on. We circle round the back, a guy banging on the door while I look in vain for water. I hear that there’s an old man who lives alone here – renovating this house has been his dream. Other people go to the neighbors and tell them the house next door is on fire – an old lady in a nightgown emerges and looks on in concern. There are police sirens blaring.  I turn to meet them – I want to hand over information to them so they can take control of the scene.

Last night, the CHOP Terrorist Mini-State in Capitol Hill, Seattle, became a genuine war zone.  Shots fired, one killed, one injured, and as a result, they now have RIP signs up in the Zone.  The residents of the neighborhood are “on edge” (ya think?!) about the situation, and “city leaders are mum.”

Surviving shooting victim “critical”, and as yet no arrests have been made.  Well, since the police allowed themselves to be stopped and not enter the “zone,” perhaps they will never find the perpetrators; it’s hard to investigate a shooting if you can’t enter the area of the shooting.  Community members outraged and saddened.

Floyd Protest and Riot Charges Filed; Injury and Fatality Reports

We’ve seen news outlets ignore looting and murder while reporting “mostly peaceful” demonstrations. A week ago, 60 Secret Service officers were wounded by “mostly peaceful protestors” who likely also set fire to a historical Episcopalian Church. After AG Barr reset the protest line a block away to better protect police and historical landmarks, the usual suspects accused Orange Man Bad of clearing “peaceful protestors” for a photo op. Just one of thousands of truths that don’t fit the narrative for many alleged journalists. Most importantly, there are the murdered, the wounded, and those charged with felonies in connection with this assault on our nation.

I tried searching on this topic and found next to nothing. I have seen many murders and beatings on YouTube, but the search engines that can find a gnat named Bernie in Tierra del Fuego are stumped. It is very hard not to be cynical.

There are some who would like to see that the names are not seen, the stories not known. Mike Pence as reported by Fox News:
