The Obamas signed a $65M deal for their two autobiographies. Michelle’s appeared last year. When will Barack’s appear? Will there be any interest in it after the 2020 election? Reagan’s autobiography appeared in 1990. Is there any precedent in the modern era for an ex-President to take so long to write his book. I’ve always […]

Jim Geraghty of National Review and guest host Greg Knapp discuss the recent jobs report and the impact on Trump’s reelection chances. They debate the David Brooks’ op-ed in The New York Times arguing Marianne Williamson has the best chance of defeating Trump. And they react to Michael Moore’s plea for Michelle Obama to enter the Democratic primary.

Using Mueller’s Standard, Did Obama Obstruct Justice?

Andrew McCarthy said Thursday night that, using Mueller’s standard, almost any action by a president could be obstruction of justice. In 2016, the DOJ was investigating HRC’s illegal server. We know that the investigation was a bit of a joke. HRC was not put under oath. A person of interest was allowed to serve as her lawyer; many members of her team were given immunity. Obama in April said that she hadn’t done anything wrong. Certainly she did not intend to do harm (in his opinion).

The statute does not require intent. Comey was writing his exculpatory memo before the investigation was completed. The AG secretly met with Bill Clinton. Comey then let her off in his press conference. It sounds like obstruction of justice to me.

It is quite interesting to note that both President George W Bush and President Obama utilized the National Guard to secure the borders when it was believed that there was an emergency requiring such use. Here is a link to the citations, and Also this document provides a legal background for understanding the military’s role […]

Chavez and his successors turned prosperous, oil rich Venezuela into a disaster. As was so often the case, Obama embraced the hard Left. Yet our media is still in love with Obama and doesn’t ask him hard questions about why him embraced such an awful man who destroyed his country. And looking at resemblances between […]

or ?  There have been discussions about voting for the other party to keep one of “our own” out. I did. It was the second time I voted for a D (the first was for Bill Nelson, after he appointed our son, in an election that didn’t matter at the time because he would have […]

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are enraged that someone would send explosive devices to the Obamas, Clintons, CNN, and others and hope that those responsible for threatening or attacking public figures – or anyone else – are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They’re also glad to see Indiana Republican Senate hopeful Mike Braun either closing in on Sen. Joe Donnelly or even taking the lead. They slam MSNBC’s Chuck Todd and others for definitively declaring that there’s no evidence of criminals being part of the thousands of Central Americans headed towards the U.S. border when there is evidence to the contrary. And they weather the final attack ads aimed at their favorite teams ahead of Sunday’s Bears-Jets game.

Last night I learned from my freshman-in-high-school daughter that the phrase “Thanks, Obama!” is used by lots of kids mockingly in response to any situation that they don’t like. For example: “I have to read 50 pages of biology for homework? Thanks, Obama!“ Preview Open

Welcome to the Harvard Lunch Club Political Podcast for September 11, 2018 – number 191!!! – it is the Deep Trump edition of the show with your fathomless hosts radio guy Todd Feinburg and AI guy Mike Stopa. This week we analyze Bob Woodward – the everything-gate guy – and his latest book (but we didn’t read it) “Fear: Trump in the White House.” Is there seriously anything here deserving of even a little media hysteria? That’s what Bob’s publisher would like to think. We will analyze. And then- back from the grave it’s Jason,…,no. not Jason. It’s Barack the O-man! He is flaunting tradition in this time of deepest traditionalism. He is back on the campaign trail. Is anyone listening? He uses his searing intellect and historical insight to cast the current political landscapesain pnv=v.zzzzzzzzz. Oops. Sorry about that.

Well, Obama’s back. Let’s hope at least Michelle can stay awake.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/federal-judge-hands-obama-presidential-center-opponents-a-win So, in the ongoing struggle for the same laws to apply to the elites as to everybody else (ie. to Obama as to any shopping center developer), there has been a pause in pulverizing some of our irreplaceable history that was located in the way of an ego display… if not yet final victory. […]

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are not thrilled to see that alleged Russian spy Maria Butina conned Obama administration officials, but they do welcome the evidence that Russia was infiltrating everywhere and not just getting cozy with the GOP. They also sigh as the Tax Foundation concludes that President Trump’s tariffs and the tariffs aimed back at the U.S. will gobble up all of the tax cuts for working families. In addition, they fume as Citizens Against Government Waste shows Republicans in Congress are cranking up the spending through pork barrel earmarks again. And while they love Mike Pompeo’s speech casting Iranian leaders as the mafia for stealing from their own people to fund terrorism, they’re not sure Trump’s all-caps tweet Sunday night was the best move.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America tear apart the progressive left’s half-baked demand to abolish ICE. They also comment on the irony that a former Obama official who lashed out against loan sharks is now financing loan sharks. They also wonder why the Democrats want to add more seats to the Supreme Court while they are still out of power.

David French of National Review and Chad Benson of Radio America fill in for Jim Geraghty and Greg Corombos. They commend Justice Roberts for joining the four liberal justices to protect Americans’ civil liberties from warrantless cell phone searches. They also consider the affects of incessant and inappropriate protesting. And they compare Trump’s new family detention policy to Obama’s, finding a difference only in outrage from activists and the media.

Swamp Creatures Assemble!

In Gotham, the villainous Master Disrupter Donald Trump descended the escalator from the dark and frightening past. Long thought to be forever vanquished on the day the oceans’ rise began to slow, the McDonalds-fueled old white male of too-much girth and too-long ties sent the Washington Establishment scrambling for a plan to vanquish their great nemesis.

Pressing the button beneath desk in the Oval Office, President Obama illuminated the night sky with the Deep State Signal depicting a haloed James Comey clenching a FISA warrant in his raised fist and the words “Quae sunt circa quam est hic” (“The Way Things Are Done Around Here”).

Meanwhile, on the campaign trail, Hillary Clinton responded to a question from a reporter with an ultrasonic cackle heard only by the administrative state which was understood by all to mean “Swamp Creatures assemble!”

Hypatia started an excellent thread today about Obama’s response to Trump’s election. He is supposed to have said, “What if we were wrong?” I realize that there is a great difference between the Massachusetts of 1775 and our country today. But perhaps a bit of the spirit of Captain Preston remains: “Captain Preston, what made you […]
