Join Jim and Greg as they welcome analysis from MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki showing the economy and inflation as the biggest concerns for voters in the midterms and Republicans ahead overwhelmingly among those voters. They also credit the New York Times for shedding the light on the insane boondoggle of California’s high-speed rail project that is $80 billion over budget and won’t be done in our lifetimes. Finally, they discuss former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard officially leaving the Democrats and urging others fed up with the party to do the same.

Join Jim and Greg as they applaud the GOP’s ingenious new strategy to register angry voters at the gas pump ahead of the upcoming midterms. They rebuke Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger for his preachy and illogical call for Israel to do more for Ukraine. And despite nobody inviting him, Dr. Anthony Fauci returns to warn that mandates and other measures may need to return if COVID numbers begin to climb again.

Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud: Pelosi on J6

One of the emerging traits of growing older (I’m 65) is blunt honesty. Our guard goes down with age as we become less concerned about what others around us may think. We blurt unvarnished truths and observations, often impulsively and increasingly inure to their consequences.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has graced the lower House chamber since 1987 and as its leading Democratic official since 2003, will turn 82 on March 26th. And during a solemn January 6th commemorative event in the Capitol, she said the quiet part about the festivities out loud.

Jim and Greg stand up and cheer for Women’s Tennis Association President Steve Simon and numerous players for publicly demanding that China prove that longtime tennis star Peng Shuai is alive and well and their her allegations of rape against a former high-ranking communist party official be seriously investigated. And they cheer Simon for willing to lose a billion dollars by pulling our of events in China if his concerns are not addressed quickly. They also cringe as the House of Representatives passes the bloated, deficit-growing spending bill known as Build Back Better, but they take a bit of solace in knowing this version likely won’t become law. And they fire back at an MSNBC columnist for telling parents that making demands about school policy and the curriculum is like telling a surgeon how to operate on your child.

Rebekah Jones, the COVID Whistleblower Who Wasn’t

Since I have not seen anyone post Charles C. W. Cooke’s wonderful piece of investigative journalism here, I felt I should.

This is an amazing tale–fun to read. MSNBC swallowed her story about Florida hiding Covid deaths whole. Turns out that the only dumb thing that Florida did was (1) hire her and (2) keep her on the payroll after she was revealed to be a crazy person, wrecking their IT. There’s sex and guns and cybercrime. Stranger than fiction.

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect three different hacks. First, they dig into Russia caught by the U.S. and two other countries trying to hack COVID research. They also discuss the Twitter hack that briefly hijacked high-profile accounts to run a bitcoin scam. And they discuss the political hackery of MSNBC as Chuck Todd claims the cable network has no editorial viewpoint during the daytime. Finally, they foreshadow the allegedly looming bombshell about to hit D.C.

This Tuesday, June 23, 2020, Joe Biden held a virtual fundraiser which featured former President Barack Obama. The event included a discussion or conversation between Biden and Obama and, in that conversation, Obama made an assertion that stunned me. Let me post a video which includes the assertion in question. The video is about 2 […]

Join us for some end of the week fun on the Friday Three Martini Lunch. Today, Jim and Greg cheer a really strong February jobs report and are hopeful the strong economy can ward off any coronavirus-related slump. Speaking of which, they also vent about the media’s inability to cover the coronavirus story in a non-hysterical manner, which may be helping to fuel the Wall Street volatility. And they get a lot of laughs from MSNBC anchor Brian Williams and New York Times Editorial Board member Mara Gay concluding that Mike Bloomberg spent enough money in his failed campaign to give each person in America a million dollars.

There are no good martinis but it’s still a Super Tuesday on the Three Martini Lunch! Join Jim and Greg as they discuss Joe Biden vowing that he wants Beto O’Rourke to be leading the charge on the gun issue – meaning Biden appears on board with Beto’s gun confiscation agenda. They also walk through the sudden departure of longtime MSNBC host Chris Matthews and how his “retirement” is part #MeToo and partly because of his politics. And they remind former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile of some very inconvenient facts after Brazile angrily told RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to “go to hell” for suggesting the Democratic nominating process was rigged against Bernie Sanders.

Join us for a busy news day on the Three Martini Lunch. Today, Jim and Greg discuss Iran’s missile strike injuring no one in Iraq, leading President Trump to announce new sanctions but no new military action. They also discuss whether the Ukrainian airliner crash in Iran was a coincidence or something more sinister. In addition, they’re glad to see Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann receiving a settlement from CNN after the network attacked over his encounter with an American Indian near the Lincoln Memorial last year – all because Sandmann was wearing a MAGA hat. And they try not to lose their breakfast as MSNBC not only carries the Soleimani funeral live but fawns all over the legacy of a man known for killing hundreds of American service members and slaughtering innocents at home and abroad.

Happy Friday!  We’ve got good, bad, and crazy martinis to finish the week.  Join Jim and Greg as they discuss Texas Rep. Will Hurd saying he sees nothing that rises to the level of impeachment, because if Will Hurd isn’t flipping the odds of many Republicans in the Senate flipping are very low.  They also sympathize with Andrew Yang, who is ripping MSNBC for not giving him much time to speak in Wednesday’s debate.  And they’re intrigued by John Bolton returning to Twitter and promising more to come – only to find liberals who hate him now begging him to testify in the impeachment inquiry.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America welcome new polling showing that even in our bitterly divided, a strong majority of New Yorkers have a strongly negative opinion of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.  They also slam Texas Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro for publicizing the names of San Antonio residents who have given the maximum contribution to President Trump’s re-election campaign and declaring they are funding a campaign of hate against Hispanic immigrants.  And they roll their eyes as an MSNBC analyst insists President Trump is doing Neo-Nazis a huge favor by raising the American flag from half-staff on Thursday.

July 17, 2019 AP Reports are coming out of Central American and Southern Mexico that a new caravan has formed and is starting to move north. Latino and Hispanic NGO agencies in the US, Mexico and Central America are rushing representatives to area. A large team of lawyers has chartered several large commercial airliners and […]

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America react to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announcing there will be a vote on the criminal justice reform bill known as the FIRST STEP Act.  They also discuss Time magazine’s selection of Jamal Khashoggi and other murdered and persecuted journalists as the “Person of the Year” and take time to explain that no one can equate President Trump’s treatment of the media to the murders and imprisonment for the press in other parts of the world.  And they assess  MSNBC hosts Stephanie Ruhle and Ali Velshi being appalled that each person supposedly being considered by Trump to be the next chief of staff is a white male.

Alexandra DeSanctis of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are glad to see the Department of Homeland Security taking a thorough, pro-active approach to securing the 2018 midterms.  They also slam MSNBC’s Katy Tur for being the latest liberal journalist to suggest Americans frame the gun debate as, “Kids or guns, what do you value more?”  Alexandra strongly calls out the intellectual dishonesty and rampant hypocrisy involved in that approach from liberals.  They get a kick out Newsweek suggesting that internet bots are really responsible for the ouster of Minnesota Sen. Al Franken, as opposed to his own inappropriate behavior.  And they pause to remember the life and legacy of evangelist Billy Graham.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America welcome President Trump’s refusal to certify that Iran is honoring its part of the 2015 nuclear deal but wonder whether the deal will eventually be scrapped or be allowed to stick around.  They also approach the delicate issue of aging Republicans missing considerable time in the U.S. Senate and when the right time is to decide another term is not a good idea.  And they shake their heads as Chuck Todd of MSNBC rightly castigates the rise of activism cloaked as journalism but cannot see or admit that’s what his employer does on a daily basis.

Political junkies watch CNN, Fox and MSNBC for the latest political news of the day. For the most part I watch Fox, although I do occasionally visit one of the others just to see what the other side is saying about the latest controversy. Imagine my amazement last night when forced to watch either CNN […]
