Will Democrats End Up Agreeing It Was a Lynch Mob?

RatsPresident Trump used a perfectly good term, with a long non-racial history, despite the fraudulent posturing of Democrats (quickly exposed in their hypocrisy with an avalanche of examples) and TruCon lapdogs who took a break from potty-mouth tweets to posture against the Great Big Ugly Man and all of us who dare support him. At the same time, the deep state coup, now acknowledged and praised by the New York Times, beclowned itself as one of the chief rats started running. Attorney General Barr and his man on the case, DAG Durham, look like they will not pull punches, going for sunshine disinfectant instead of a cloud of stench-masking air fresheners to get the greasy, stale smoke odor out of the FBI, DOJ and intelligence agencies fleet. But, if you think that the end game is everyone rolling, or the buck stopping at President Obama’s desk, you would be wrong. In the end, the most we will get is “fact checkers” “proving” President Trump’s grammar was wrong.

As loudly as the Democrats and their media organs are playing fake Ukrainian folk music, they are trying to cover the discord of the real baseline, and no, it isn’t a symphony warming up. The intelligence community can hear Barr and the band running through “For Whom the Bells Toll” and “Thunderstruck” backstage.

Representatives Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) are still singing their impeachment cantata. But a huge orchestra, with plenty of brass (not to mention subpoena and prosecutorial power) has assembled and is tuning up. We’re told that Michael Horowitz’s much-anticipated inspector general’s report on the origins of the FISA warrants against American citizens, after numerous delays, will be released imminently, perhaps as soon as next week. Horowitz was quoted as saying it will be “very detailed” and feature “limited redactions.”

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America welcome a Politico report showing that even if liberals soaked “the rich” they wouldn’t come anywhere close to paying for single-payer health care or the Green New Deal.  They also shake their heads as testimony from former FBI attorney Lisa Page suggests the FBI was considering whether to recommend a federal charge against Hillary Clinton over her mishandling of classified emails but the Justice Department made it clear it had no intention of pursuing the case.  And Jim offers his hilarious assessment of climate change activists refusing to have children until the world gets serious about climate change.

The Mainstream Media Can’t Be Bothered with Silliness

Reporting on a 13-month-old story is always difficult, as most people have moved on in their lives. Sometimes I believe that is exactly why the Federal Government takes so long to process Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests, especially ones being requested from the Right side of the political spectrum.

So, let’s travel back to June of 2016. Hillary was in big trouble over emails and servers and whatnot, and it could potentially result in the end of her Presidential campaign if indictments were handed down by the Department of Justice. This all depended on what the FBI had to say about it, courtesy of a certain Director named James Comey.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America discuss California Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s CNN interview, in which she states that the Senate Judiciary Committee should investigate former Attorney General Loretta Lynch for potentially politicizing the Hillary Clinton investigation. They also react as Feinstein goes on to change the Democratic Party narrative from collusion with Russia to President Trump’s obstruction of justice. And they express little sympathy for Wisconsin Democrats accusing Republicans of partisan redistricting and Jim unloads on liberals who consistently claim an act is unconstitutional if it does not fit with their agenda.

Comey Breaks His Silence

This is a preview from Friday’s Daily Shot newsletter. Subscribe here free of charge.

Yesterday saw the much-anticipated public testimony of ex-FBI Director James Comey in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee. You can find a transcript of his testimony here and video of it here.

So what did he say? Well, first, he didn’t read his prepared remarks, which were released Wednesday. (You can find them here.) Instead he jumped right into it. Comey was clearly upset about the way he was fired and was sure to make an issue of it.

The Hillary Clinton email investigation has finally come to its foregone conclusion. Lynch to Leave Decision to Prosecute Clinton to the FBI

Via the NYT:

Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch plans to announce on Friday that she will accept whatever recommendation career prosecutors and the F.B.I. director make about whether to bring charges related to Hillary Clinton’s personal email server, a Justice Department official said. Her decision removes the possibility that a political appointee will overrule investigators in the case. The Justice Department had been moving toward such an arrangement for months — officials said in April that it was being considered — but a private meeting between Ms. Lynch and former President Bill Clinton this week set off a political furor and made the decision all but inevitable.

FBI Failures Should Be A Bipartisan Scandal

Omar Mateen, the Orlando shooter, was under FBI investigation twice in 2013 and 2014. So you’d think the FBI’s ears would have perked up when a member of his own mosque reported suspicions that Mateen was planning an attack. And when Disney reported that they believed he was casing their park for an attack, it’s reasonable to expect that the FBI would have had sufficient leads to  stop him, if they had only connected the dots. Ditto when a gun shop owner reported his attempt to buy body armor and bulk ammo. If the FBI had followed up, they probably would have learned some interesting things from the whistleblower at the security firm where Mateen worked.
