This has been an interesting time, forced to make do at home. Fortunately, I am able to continue teaching my math classes online by utilizing Screencast-O-Matic, YouTube, and Zoom. So far, my students have not lost any precious geometry and calculus content! I don’t think I could have successfully taught my students remotely just a […]

In what Dave describes a more eclectic mix than usual, he chats in-studio with his friend and co-worker, the delightful Joel Valdez who is wrapping up his degree in mechanical engineering, before enjoying a conversation with Ricochet Editor in Chief Jon Gabriel about what it’s like to capture the attention of the President of the United States.  And speaking of presidents, Alphonse Fontenot visits Memphis to pop in the studio as well and make his own rather peculiar announcement. The result of all this is a conversation that touches on the world of high-end retail, best and worst management practices, mechanical engineering, binary elections, Joe Biden and the Democrat Primaries (no, that’s not the name of a new rock band), “Game of Thrones Girl,” watches, the water in Michigan, Conrad Hilton, and when to leave a department store. Buckle in, and enjoy the ride!

Next on Thinking It Through:  I get the opportunity to converse with the Editor-in-Chief of Ricochet.com, Mr. Jon Gabriel.  He gives me his thoughts on Harvard hiring (and later rescinding the invitation) Chelsea Manning to be a visiting fellow, ESPN Host Jemele Hill’s recent comments on Trump, Trump working with Democrats, and how important is building the […]

In the paragraph regarding the *constitutional importance* of the USDA and HHS “telling adults what to eat,” this hyperlink would have been pretty good, but if someone could have found a link to an actual video clip from the episode, it would have been amazing:  https://twitter.com/southpark/status/517498459239497728 My personal favorite show by conservative-leaning writers.  Preview Open

Welcome to The Conservatarians, a brand spankin’ new podcast hosted by Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel and KTAR-FM‘s Jim Sharpe. For the premiere episode, Jon and Jim welcome the man who inspired the podcast name, Charles C. W. Cooke, author of The Conservatarian Manifesto and co-host of the popular “Mad Dogs & Englishmen” podcast.

Charles defines the term “conservatarian,” names a few politicos who fit the description, and defends Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band from Jon’s praise of Pet Sounds. Other topics include the Paris Climate Conference, the latest perfidy from the EPA, and Hollywood’s ridiculous plan to rewrite Ted Kennedy’s darkest hour.

Writer/Comedian Evan Sayet is one of the terrific conservative speakers I met when I “wintered” in LA this year. He’s hilarious, he cuts the left to ribbons, and you should definitely catch one of his shows as he tours the country this year. Attention Jon Gabriel and Doug Kimball: he just added a May 27 […]
