Jan. 6 Mysteries

1. Why hasn’t the FBI caught the person who planted the pipe bombs on 1/5? They captured on video the person talking on a cell phone. It would be child’s play to get the number. It’s almost as if they don’t want to catch this person. As Holmes would say, the dog not barking tells you the most salient point. The most likely explanation is that this was an FBI person planting evidence in preparation for the 1/6 insurrection fable.

2. Who is Ray Epps and why hasn’t he been arrested? The 1/6 House witch-hunt talked with him but the transcript hasn’t been released. He was shouting on 1/5 that they should storm the Capitol and the crowd called him out as a Fed.

Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud: Pelosi on J6

One of the emerging traits of growing older (I’m 65) is blunt honesty. Our guard goes down with age as we become less concerned about what others around us may think. We blurt unvarnished truths and observations, often impulsively and increasingly inure to their consequences.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has graced the lower House chamber since 1987 and as its leading Democratic official since 2003, will turn 82 on March 26th. And during a solemn January 6th commemorative event in the Capitol, she said the quiet part about the festivities out loud.

The J6 Hyperbole Olympics Off to a Good Start

“Certain dates echo throughout history, including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them where they were, and what they were doing, when our democracy came under assault. Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars, but a place in our collective memory: December 7th, 1941, September 11th, 2001, and January 6th, 2021.” – Vice President Kamala Harris

It’s going to be hard to top that. She could have mentioned August 4, 2003, the date ‘Firefly’ went off the air.  Or September 20, 1999, the date Shania Twain released “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” and ruined country music forever.

January 6th ‘Violent Terrorist Insurrection’ and 2020 ‘Summer of Love’ Compared

Real Clear Investigations has a handy article and chart that compares January 6th Insurrection™ that was worse than Pearl Harbor, 9-11, and the cancellation of “Firefly” combined, to the “mostly peaceful” riots by Democrat surrogates during the summer of 2020 that were “the voice of the unheard.” Here are some of their takeaways.

  • The summer 2020 riots resulted in some 15 times more injured police officers, 23 times as many arrests, and estimated damages in dollar terms up to 1,300 times more costly than those of the Capitol riot.
  • Authorities have pursued the largely Trump-supporting Capitol rioters with substantially more vigor than suspected wrongdoers in the earlier two cases, and prosecutors and judges alike have weighed Capitol riot defendants’ political views in adjudicating their cases.
  • Dozens of accused Capitol rioters have been held in pretrial detention for months, where they have allegedly been mistreated.
  • In the summer 2020 riots, the vast majority of charges were dismissed, as they were in the Inauguration 2017 unrest. Prosecutors have dropped (only) a single Capitol riot case.

“But January 6th was so much worse. It was an assault on ‘Democracy itself,’ and the president encouraged it. A politician who encourages violence has crossed the line and forsaken his Constitutional Oath.” Yeah, about that…

We’re busy and have a lot going on at the moment, like most working Americans, so I wanted to catch up on the news. When I turned on the TV today for a few minutes, the hearing on January 6th – the Insurrection, was underway. After a short time, I had to turn it off.  […]
