A “Global Emergency?” Nah, Just Global Political Correctness

The World Health Organization (WHO) has only six other times declared a disease-specific “global health emergency.” Covid-19 was the most recent one, although they can’t seem (refuse?) to confirm its origination. Ebola is a highly fatal disease that has inspired several disaster movies. Zika is another one known for causing brain defects in infants born to mothers infected by the virus. MERS, a Middle-Eastern coronavirus respiratory disease, earned the designation in 2012. A pair of especially virulent flu viruses, including H1N1 in 2009-10, largely round out a list that includes several humanitarian crises in places like Afghanistan.

But Monkeypox is the latest. The media, as usual, brims with fear-mongering stories about a disease that is rarely fatal and has infected some 4,000 people – mostly gay men and a few others who have come in contact with them. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have piled on, giving it “Alert 2” status and calling for “enhanced precautions.” But they’re not entirely inaccurate about how the disease is spread.

When 83-year old Supreme Court Justice Steven Breyer announced his retirement in February, it neither surprised nor initially concerned me. Hard-charging leftists demanded Breyer’s resignation ever since their legal and cinematic icon, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, passed away in 2020, leaving President Trump an opportunity to nominate and the Senate to confirm Amy Coney Barrett in quick order, […]

That was fast. Less than 24 hours after Democratic US Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) and an aide were carjacked and robbed outside Philadelphia’s FDR Park, five teenagers were arrested and charged with the crime. She’s the second pro-police reform Democratic elected official to be carjacked this week. Preview Open

George Soros, the bogeyman on the left, responsible (from the shadows) through his financial largess for many societal and political ills in the United States, had an op. ed. in the Wall Street Journal on August 13th entitled “Xi’s Dictatorship Threatens the Chinese State”. Unlike much of the WSJ’s content, this is not behind the […]

Click here to listen to the podcast On this episode of The Resistance Library Podcast, Sam and Dave discuss George Soros. Of course you’ve heard the name “George Soros,” often invoked as a sort of folk demon on the American and international right, it’s likely that you have some vague notion of why you think […]

Philadelphia: America’s Gomorrah

This Once-Great City Continues Its Slouch into an Abyss of Racism, Crime, & Anti-Semitism

Until the New Year, my family and I lived in the Philadelphia suburbs for some 18 years. We still have great friends and memories, and we continue to make almost monthly forays to our former home community (but not center city Philadelphia). Our memories of trips to downtown Philadelphia (rarely at night) are mostly positive (my youngest son and I being jostled by Flyers fans while donning Capitals jerseys during an NHL game is an exception, but I knew what I was in for. We all know Philly sports fans and their history – just ask Santa).

Where can I find a database list of George Soros funded District Attorneys? Recently in news reports about local District Attorneys I’ve seen the same reference – ‘This is a George Soros DA’. I gather the Soros has invested million$ supporting a certain type of candidate, i.e. Progressive/Liberal. Preview Open

We Are the Resistance!

Have you noticed lately the number of journalists who are regularly using the term “the Resistance” when they refer to the members of the Left? Do you realize how they have subtly been indoctrinated to use the term resistance and they are unintentionally legitimizing the work of the Left? The word resistance has been co-opted by the Left, and it’s time that we not only hold them to account, but we should consider embracing the term for the political Right.

Resistance movements describe groups that formed to resist armies that were invading and destroying legitimate countries:

A resistance movement is an organized effort by some portion of the civil population of a country to resist the legally established government or an occupying power and to disrupt civil order and stability. It may seek to achieve its objects through either the use of nonviolent resistance (sometimes called civil resistance) or the use of armed force. In many cases, as for example in Norway in the Second World War, a resistance movement may employ both violent and non-violent methods, usually operating under different organizations and acting in different phases or geographical areas within a country.

This release by Judicial Watch demonstrates the revolving door between organizations fronted by George Soros and operating inside Romania and Columbia. Here are some pertinent details that seem to indicate how the Soros’ NGO’s and Obama government were one big revolving door of slush funds: Preview Open

Do Black Lives Matter?

Black lives ought to matter; and, in my opinion, they once did. They once mattered a great deal. Not long after he became mayor in New York City, Rudy Giuliani introduced a new method of policing that concentrated resources where there was a plethora of crime. It resulted in a dramatic decline in the murder rate, and Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton took notice and poured federal money into similar policing reforms. African-Americans living in rough neighborhoods were the intended beneficiaries, and they benefited a great deal.

But those days are long gone, and I do not believe that black lives much matter now. They did not matter to Barack Obama, Eric Holder, the members of the Congressional Black Caucus, the white radical who passed as black and founded Black Lives Matter, and to George Soros who funded the outfit. These folks were perfectly prepared to do a number on America’s African-American community and to put their lives at greater risk for the purpose of mobilizing them as a political force.

To grasp what is going on, one need only look at the data — which Heather Mac Donald did a week ago today in a brief squib posted on the website of City Journal. Here is what she wrote:

Killer Apps

I’ve had it up to here with you people out there making harassing calls to my technical staff to rush our new smartphone apps to the market. My number one technology guy, R.N.D. Funding, is threatening to quit. If he does, I’m coming after each of you fat [expletives]. Like many Americans, I have access to the NSA tapes and transcripts of your abusive calls to R.N.D. If you think Gen. Flynn got a raw deal, just wait until I get a hold of you.

However, my public relations consultant and part-time rodeo clown, Robin “Hood” Wink, has urged me to placate you knuckleheads. I told her, as I’m always ‘splaining to my Nobel Prize winning shrink, Sarah Bellum, I try to like people, but they are all so [expletive] stupid.

I’ve seen this movie before. Back in the late 60’s and 70’s we saw student demonstrations all over the country, many of which were organized by communist organizations within our country and outside from foreign entities. Ads in student newspapers and flyers passed around on campuses recruited students who were often paid to protest, sometimes […]

Donald Trump and George Soros must travel in some of the same circles.  It’s well-known that many of the anarchist and Occupy groups are funded by Soros, and they are the ones who cause the most damage by their demonstrations and destruction when they don’t get what they want. Shunning: A Survival Strategy

stoveOver the years, I have assembled a short list of political aphorisms and I have been ruthless in my consideration of what merits inclusion. So ruthless that, in twenty-odd years, my list stood at a mere two entries. After years of advocacy, however, I realized that a specific point merits inclusion. My list now stands:

  1. Marxists lie.
  2. Never create a martyr.
  3. Some people need to touch the stove.

In reference to this new, third aphorism, there is a saying: “A smart man learns from his mistakes, but a wise man learns from other people’s mistakes.” The unspoken corollary is that a fool never learns. Which brings me to supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders.

As I see it, there are six types of Democrats:

Staging Riots

shutterstock_213974764 (1)Journalism is pretty much dead in the United States. Most of the newspapers that used to do the basic work of looking into things have folded, and most of those that remain are, for the most part, in the disinformation business. Do you remember the coverage of the Duke Lacrosse Case? Of the George Zimmerman – Trayvon Martin case? Of the events in Ferguson? Of the Eric Garner case in New York City? And of the recent events in Baltimore?

The media has a narrative that they desperately want to peddle – which is that you and I live in a viciously racist society. That is what our budding journalists were taught in college, and they are always on the lookout for an anecdote to illustrate that meme. Before carefully examining the facts in any given case, they will leap to the predetermined conclusion.

They will not print the news that does not fit. We are fed falsehoods about racist attacks by police on innocent young African-Americans. Next to nothing is said about the racist murder of whites by not-so-innocent young African-Americans (which is far more common). And even less is said about the murder of African-Americans by other African-Americans (which is more common yet).
