Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America tackle four big stories today. First, they welcome the resignation of disgraced GOP Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens. After another Twitter slam against his attorney general, they wonder why President Trump doesn’t just fire Jeff Sessions if he hates him so much. They also discuss the massive shift in opinion on free speech on both the left and right after ABC cancels “Roseanne” after Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet. And they marvel at the fake assassination of a reporter in Ukraine to smoke out the people really trying to kill him.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America enjoy watching U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley stand her ground after chief Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow suggests Haley was confused about whether new sanctions had been ordered against Russia. They also shudder as more horrible allegations come out against disgraced Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, and because he won’t resign even after top GOP leaders urged him to step down. They roll their eyes as independent 2016 presidential candidate Evan McMullin remains mired in campaign debt and has missed his last three required filings with the Federal Elections Commission. And Jim and Greg pay tribute to the remarkable life of former First Lady Barbara Bush.

David French of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America react to the horrific news that the armed sheriff’s deputy assigned to Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School was aware of the shooter and never went in to confront him. They also recoil at reports the sheriff’s office was specifically warned in November that the shooter would do this and that his own family asked the sheriff’s office to take his guns away. David details his latest column, explaining how law-abiding Americans should have access to so-called “assault weapons” in order to match the firepower of criminals and because our founders actually did intend it to be this way. And they discuss the political freefall of now-indicted Republican Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, who is facing charges of invasion of privacy in connection with an extramarital affair with his hairdresser before running for governor.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America applaud Meghan McCain for calling out Michael Wolff’s many factual errors and questionable journalistic ethics to his face during a discussion of his book on “The View.” They also unload on Republican Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens for conducting an extramarital affair as he prepared to launch his bid for governor and they recoil at accusations that he threatened to release compromising photos of the woman if she revealed their affair. Greitens admits to the affair but strongly denies the blackmail. And they smack their foreheads as President Trump trashes FISA renewal legislation in a tweet before realizing his administration actually supports the bill.
