In 1952, William F. Buckley, Jr. infamously penned the following words, helping to plant one of the first tiny mustard seeds of Neoconservatism: The thus-far invincible aggressiveness of the Soviet Union does or does not constitute a threat to the security of the United States, and we have got to decide which. If it does, […]

The Epoch Times has taken to calling the shady business surrounding the 2016 election “Spygate”. By this they suggest there is a scandal. To the good, the title is brief and informative. To the bad, it is cliche and unimaginative. Worse is that “Spygate”, derivative from Watergate, appeals to the name to generate outrage. We […]

President Trump Rocks Out with Real Heavy Metal Band

The afternoon of 20 March 2019, President Trump rocked out with a group that makes real heavy metal. The event was different from other presidential appearances, but featured many of the same themes. Two themes, American defense revival and energy dominance, stood in stark contrast to news from Germany. In the midst of the prepared remarks, with the usual riffs, President Trump elaborated on his criticism of the politician John McCain, who the appointed Senator from Arizona, Martha McSally, is unconditionally defending, raising questions about her viability or suitability in 2020. President Trump’s visit to the Lima Army Tank Plant was a great political messaging success on several levels.

The setting:

The Lima Army Tank Plant, in Lima, Ohio, is where the components of the M1 tank, in all its variations, are assembled into a heavy metal instrument that can rock your world. The plant has a uniformed Army oversight contingent, partnered with a skilled civilian workforce centered around proud UAW workers. President Trump spoke to the assembled plant crew, to repeated cheers from these skilled tradesmen, proud UAW members.

Trump: Disrupter-In-Chief

Well, just what exactly did you expect?

Trump the Candidate was a loud, braggadocious, outrageous, counterpunching, reality show celebrity/businessman who never let an attack go unanswered. To refresh your recollection, you should go  do a search for “2016 Republican debate highlights.”

Abolish the Deep State: A Modest First Step

I’ve been giving thought to how the deep state can be truly abolished. I don’t think that the proposed reorganization plans unveiled by the White House, for all their vast benefits, will do very much to eliminate it.

The deep state creates two problems for Americans. First, the deep state (like all organizations) desires to perpetuate itself through its influence over the political classes.

Swamp Creatures Assemble!

In Gotham, the villainous Master Disrupter Donald Trump descended the escalator from the dark and frightening past. Long thought to be forever vanquished on the day the oceans’ rise began to slow, the McDonalds-fueled old white male of too-much girth and too-long ties sent the Washington Establishment scrambling for a plan to vanquish their great nemesis.

Pressing the button beneath desk in the Oval Office, President Obama illuminated the night sky with the Deep State Signal depicting a haloed James Comey clenching a FISA warrant in his raised fist and the words “Quae sunt circa quam est hic” (“The Way Things Are Done Around Here”).

Meanwhile, on the campaign trail, Hillary Clinton responded to a question from a reporter with an ultrasonic cackle heard only by the administrative state which was understood by all to mean “Swamp Creatures assemble!”

Technology Advances, Justice Retreats

The speed at which information is available is difficult to comprehend. Like magic, an e-mail, text, or breaking news appears on our devices in a second or two.

Intel co-founder Gordon Moore noted in 1965 that the number of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits doubled each year. “Moore’s Law” has since been broadened beyond semiconductors to encompass accelerating breakthroughs in digital electronics, memory capacity, sensors, A.I., and other technological fields.

At the start of this past week, a Democrat City Councilman in the capital city of our country speculated that a Jewish conspiracy was manipulating the Earth’s weather in order to control urban areas.  I am not making this up. D.C. keep talking about, ‘We a resilient city.’ And that’s a model based off the […]

From time to time, someone here will mention some proof or other of how Obama still has his hand in the cookie jar, related to economic policies, related to foreign affairs, and of course relating to the media and Far Left’s coup against Trump. I thought it might make things convenient to put up this […]

We are relearning the danger of law enforcement and spy agencies using “secret” labels and special courts to shield their domestic political collusion and attempted manipulation of both elections and policy-making. At the same time, we would do well to relearn healthy skepticism about secrecy-shrouded military procurement, especially as the pork barrel is rolling again […]

There are 100 thoughts already posted on the Nunes memo. This is 101. Why is there so much sturm und drang surrounding the specific details contained in the memo when the basic facts contained in it or not hotly disputed? Most partisans are working backwards from preconceived notions, but even beyond that, the whole milieu […]

Christian Adams at PJ Media sounded the alarm on the shocking re-nomination of radical anti-Christian EEOC commissioner Chai Feldblum. Some Republicans, apparently including some inside the White House, think it’s fine to put an activist radical on the EEOC in order to get two more Republicans confirmed to the EEOC. Preview Open

Our president is a controversial figure, it seems. His rhetoric is bombastic. His claimed goals are all over the place. His principles are murky. So, I understand why stalwarts on the right don’t see in Trump the kind of leader they’d want for the conservative movement and/or the Republican party. I agreed. I only decided […]
