The World Is Not Your Oyster

This is the commencement at a small Catholic college I know a little about, John Paul the Great — I have friends who teach there. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Father Andy Younan, downed pints and whiskey with him at the local pub, and talked Tolkien with him in his class. To him, I’m the guy who talks Heidegger. Still, this was a bit of a surprise. I think this is the kind of commencement address conservatives could like. It works to reveal the possibility that your experience might break you. That is where he begins to describe the longing for God.
