Join Jim and Greg as they serve up all crazy martinis today!  First, they cringe as Joe Biden literally forgets where is giving a speech, showing more evidence of decline just weeks before Democrats officially nominate him for president. They also dig into the long game of the Democrats and their media allies, as they hammer the COVID responses of the GOP governors of Texas and Florida.  And they get a kick out of how the Joe Kennedy III Senate campaign is lashing out at Boston Globe after the paper endorsed incumbent Democrat Ed Markey.

Welcome to the Harvard Lunch Club Political Podcast for August 28, 2018 it is the End of Trump edition of the show, number 189!!! This week is a special show because our guest is my esteemed editor from the Boston Globe, the editorial page editor Marjorie Pritchard. As noted by NPR host David Greene:

An editorial in The Boston Globe this morning [August 16] has the headline “Journalists Are Not The Enemy.” This is in response to President Trump’s attacks. He has called the media, quote, “the enemy of the American people.” Now, the Globe asked other newspapers to join them today in running an editorial like this, and more than 300 publications heeded the call. This was spearheaded by Marjorie Pritchard. She’s the op-ed editor of The Boston Globe.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Rich McFadden of Radio America break down Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s request that red-state Democrats remain neutral on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. They also cannot believe that some Democrats are seriously considering the idea of almost doubling the federal budget to pay for Sen. Bernie Sander’s Medicare-for-all program. And they cannot find any examples of malfeasance in the Boston Globe story about the TSA’s passenger-monitoring program that tracks people who sweat too much and urinate too often.
