Socialist Birds of a Feather: 1978

Democratic Socialists AmericaScott Johnson’s recent Power Line post on CRT took us back to 1978 and yet another commie lover. The American left has a long history of admiration for communist regimes, whether Russia, China, Cuba, or even North Korea. They see there an exercise of power such as they desire over us. The left is perfectly willing to say the quiet part out loud. We should take them seriously.

Scott Johnson was commenting on an important and clear recent explanation of how critical race theory led to Kendi. Johnson offered special insight into a very early advocate of CRT [emphasis added]:

Sibarium’s column struck a personal chord with me. He links to and quotes from Alan Freeman’s 1978 Minnesota Law Review article “Legitimizing Racial Discrimination through Antidiscrimination law: A Critical Review of Supreme Court Doctrine.” My last semester in law school I was a student in Professor Freeman’s Civil Rights course.

Socialist Birds of a Feather [with a new postscript]

BLM supports cop killerThe people’s protests against the socialist regime running Cuba prompted American socialists to flock to the defense of the Cuban Commies. Among these were the Black Lives Matter Foundation, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), DSA’s superstar AOC, and Bernie Sanders. In so doing, they carried on the disgraceful precedent of the Congressional Black [except for Republicans] Caucus.

Go back to 2009, early in President Obama’s first term. The Congressional Black Caucus took a fact-finding junket to Cuba, where they not only fawned on Fidel but also ignored, covered up by their silence, the plight of black Afro-Cuban prisoners, jailed and abused by the much lighter-skinned regime leaders of European ancestry. The Congressional Black Caucus helped the racist Castro regime with their positive video appearances and quotes.

[T]he Stalinist regime that jailed and tortured the longest suffering black political prisoner in modern history (Eusebio Penalver) rolled out the red carpet for six gullible  members of the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus. All of these U.S. legislators met with “President” Raul Castro while a lucky three secured back-stage passes to meet Fidel himself.

In a show we could just as easily have named “David Limbaugh Cuts Through The Static,” the acclaimed NYT Best Selling author, pundit, and brother of Rush Limbaugh sits down with our own Dave Carter for a running stream of analysis that both figuratively and literally cuts through the static. That’s because the interview ran into a technical snag that resulted in actual static in the audio recording! Remarkably enough, Mr. Limbaugh’s clear analysis and commentary rises above the static (owing perhaps to his passion and conviction), so that the audio distortion will not prevent you from hearing what he has to say.  And what he has to say needs to heard as a ringing indictment not only of the cancel culture and the left’s mob mentality, but of those on the right whose vacillations have helped bring us to this point.

Then Ricochet’s own Henry Racette stops by to discuss his recent article, “About That Vacancy,” and how he sees the 2020 Presidential election shaping up.  This episode is rich in analysis, technical glitches notwithstanding, and we think you’ll enjoy the conversations.

A United Nations Speech Like No Other

Trump UN75President Trump took under eight minutes to state the United States position to world leaders and domestic and international audiences. He started with the reason the United Nations was formed 75 years ago, the end of the second world war in a half century. President Trump used military imagery to tie the UN’s purpose to the current global pandemic. Then he dropped the hammer on China. President Trump called on the UN to deal with real problems and pointed to real US leadership under his administration. He pointed to the remarkable peace deals resulting from his administration rejecting the tired old institutionalized expert formulas. He once again pointed to the obligation of every government to care first for its own citizens, and then to make agreements in the mutual interest of each nation’s people, not according to elite theories and interests.

President accused China and the World Health Organization of letting the virus out and lying at all the important points. when it could have been contained or its effect on populations limited. President Trump then detailed China’s offenses against the rest of the world as the leading polluter of the oceans and atmosphere. No one can doubt that the Chinese Communist Party dearly wants Joe Biden, Chuck and Nancy in charge of America next January, and is fully supportive of the Democrats’ subversive strategy of denying the legitimacy of any Republican victory.

This latest annual speech reflects both continuity and change. President Trump has consistently advocated for each nation to take care of its own people first, making only those deals that are mutually beneficial to the citizens of the nations involved. He has beat the drum for reform of international organizations, cleaning up corruption and incompetence by pointing them back to their founding purposes. What changed was a major shift against China, now being accused of being the world’s supervillain, and celebration of the sweet fruit of long labors in the Middle East.

Department of Justice Seeking Real Equal Justice

Scale justice TrumpPresident Trump’s appointments are making a real difference at the Department of Justice. Yes, it is maddeningly slow work to reverse the subversion of this powerful institution. Yet, real results are beginning to appear. On Monday, September 21, the Department of Justice obeyed the lawful order of President Trump and published findings supporting the designation of three American cities as jurisdictions permitting violence and destruction of property. While withholding federal funding is the surface threat, the designation suggests that President Trump may have a duty to impose direct federal control to protect American citizens’ federal constitutional rights. Additionall, DOJ has intervened in a lawsuit against Democrat-controlled New Mexico, in a COVID-19 and schools equal protection case.

Identification is Response to Presidential Memorandum Reviewing Federal Funding to State and Local Governments that are Permitting Anarchy, Violence, and Destruction in American Cities

NFL Honors Woman’s Abuser, Disdain Murdered Police

arm in arm cowboysThe NFL has joined the rest of corporate America in siding with the Marxist left. The NFL is choosing to make heroes out of villains, while making heroes into villains. You can see it by what is and is not written on their helmets. Consider 2016 in Dallas and 2020 in New Orleans.

In 2016, Barack Obama’s poisoning of Americans against each other culminated in the murder of five Dallas police officers and the wounding of nine other police officers by a hate-fueled man who wanted to kill white people, especially police, during a Black Lives Matter rally in Dallas. President Obama knew he had to do damage control before the election, so he showed up for a memorial service. Yet, he just could not help himself, blaming the police and America and defending Black Lives Matter and the whole systemic racism narrative.

President Obama’s Dallas remarks were reprinted in full by the New York Daily News. Read the whole thing, if you can stomach it. Mark Davis, a Salem Radio host in the Dallas Fort Worth market, had this to say in the Dallas Morning News about Obama’s Dallas speech:

Today’s “racial justice” icons are markedly different from early civil rights icons. Few of the black men held up as martyrs of alleged institutional racism over the past decade measure up to Rosa Parks. The four innocents murdered in a 1963 KKK bombing of a black church, and the terribly disfigured body of Emmitt Till, […]

It seems obvious that the democrat party was honing its relationship the BLM/Antifa in order “broaden their constituency” and to satisfy their older dullards who retain a deep romanticism about the 1960s.   Democrat leadership may have altered this a bit over the last day or so, but it may not matter anymore.  They have […]
