More year-end awards today! Jim and Greg embark on the second half of their six-episode saga known as the 2020 Three Martini Lunch Awards. Today, they offer up their selections for the best political idea, worst political idea, and boldest political tactics for the year.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss confirmation that a federal prosecutor is investigating Hunter Biden on tax issues, his foreign ties, and possible money laundering. They also sigh at the revelations of China’s efforts to infiltrate the inner circles of politicians supposedly on the rise, and how easily multiple figures seem to have fallen for it. And they react to reports that Sen. Dianne Feinstein is suffering from cognitive decline but find the timing awfully convenient for the far left.

For Trump

To make it clear, I will vote for Trump in November, waiting until Election Day to mark our absentee ballots. I am a firm believer in having an actual day for voting, instead of the months-long smear that is now the practice.

However, this missive is not for the purpose of examining our current election practices, but to make the case for Trump as I have come to understand the matter. I did not vote for Trump in 2016, mostly because it was not clear to me what his policies might be. Sure, there was the “build the wall” issue and other matters but at the time it did not seem to make a coherent whole.

Join Jim and Greg for three good martinis! First, they credit NBC for actually reporting that a big reason for huge forest fires is poor government management and a refusal to diligently thin out forests to contain future fires. They’re also thrilled to see polling showing 80 percent of Saudis expecting normalization of relations with Israel and 71 percent expecting it whether the Palestinians pursue a peace deal or not. And they’re glad to see a majority of Americans approving the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett and a huge majority opposing court packing.

Join Jim and Greg as they mark ten years of the 3 Martini Lunch! First they discuss two stories so bad and crazy they’re actually good. They discuss how the Democrats are planning to pack the Supreme Court and act like they had no choice because the GOP Senate filled a seat on the court just before an election. They also hammer New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for saying the CDC and FDA cannot be trusted to tell the public if a coronavirus vaccine is safe. And they reflect back on a number of highlights from the 3 Martini Lunch over the past decade.

Join Jim and Greg as they’re encouraged to see and hear strong indications that President Trump is doing much better in his fight against COVID-19 and may be back at the White House soon. They also wish that the White House had been more forthcoming with details of the president’s medical condition and that media didn’t hyperventilate with every piece of new information about the president’s treatment and other details. And they get a kick out of Sen. Chuck Schumer demanding that confirmation hearings for Amy Coney Barrett be postponed while senators are fighting COVID.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer President Trump’s selection of Judge Amy Coney Barrett for the U.S. Supreme Court. They also dig into the New York Times story on Trump’s taxes and discuss what might be damaging and what’s just noise. And they discuss the spectrum of attacks Democrats and their media allies are aiming at Judge Barrett – from Obamacare scares to bashing her for being a working mom to why adopting kids from Haiti is somehow troubling.
