@blueyeti promised us in Ricochet’s recent Focus Group that “We also do not sell your email addresses or anything else to third parties even though we get asked about it on a regular basis.” As testimony to how good Yeti’s promise is, let me share what happened right after I subscribed to some other well-known right-wing outlet (which shall remain nameless) just this fall. I’ve been a Ricochet member for years. And for years, the partisan demands on my money have been negligible. Few emails, no texts. Life was good. Then, I signed up at that other right-wing outlet:

Now random politicians won’t stop $exting me. You know what I’m talking about. $exting. Those endless texts demanding money, burning up your phone faster than you can block them. Various personas claiming to be “Newt” or “Mitch” or “Scalise” take credit for sending them, though it’s hard to imagine the sender as anyone other than some pitiable peon of a staffer or intern, unhappily grinding out the wheedling that’s below everyone else’s pay grade.

After venting about their run-ins with government bureaucracy, Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America dive into three crazy martinis related to the Justice Department’s Inspector General report. They marvel at the mountain of obvious political bias inside the FBI during the 2016 campaign and that the IG does not believe that bias affected the Hillary Clinton investigation. They also shudder at the lack of ethics that the media used to obtain classified information from FBI officials. And they find it really difficult to comprehend that former FBI Director James Comey didn’t know that Clinton’s former top aide Huma Abedin is married to disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner.

Harvey Weinstein’s recently “exposed” decades of lurid and disgusting sexual assaults on young women underscores the need to update the lexicon of unwanted sex encounters.

No industry is immune from sexual harassment scandals these days. Sexual attacks take place in the worlds of politics, entertainment, and news media. They are perpetrated by conservatives and liberals alike.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America believe the judge made the right decision in sentencing former congressman/predator Anthony Weiner to 21 months in prison for transferring obscene material to a minor. They also discuss the latest GOP health care bill going up in flames as some Republicans think it’s not conservative enough and others think it’s too conservative, making the likelihood of anything getting done on this issue in this Congress very slim. And they’re disturbed as Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle – and former Army ranger – Alejandro Villanueva apologizes to his teammates, coaches and the Steelers organization for being the only one on the field Sunday for the national anthem.

I got a call yesterday from my college frat buddy, now successful pollster and political consultant, Phil A. “Buster” Mignon. Buster, who is a real-life doppelganger for White House Chief Strategist, Stevie Wonder O’Bannon, said his new client, the Obama community organizers group, OFA (Organizers Fighting America), was building a new tunnel connecting New Jersey and Staten Island. He wanted me to join him at the groundbreaking the next morning on the Perth Attaboy waterfront.

He couldn’t have called at a worse time.

I ran into Greg Potemkin in DC yesterday when I was in town to lobby for The Euthanamerica Foundation, which I helped establish to counteract the obsessive focus on young Asians being promoted by the Oregon-based Euthanasia Society.

Greg is considerably younger than I, but we became fast friends five years ago when we toured Uzbekistan together for the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) to promote magic awareness and escapism. After exchanging the traditional IBM greeting, which consists of pulling multi-colored scarves from each other’s ears until we were worn out, we retired to the nearest Starbutts to catch up.

If you trust the Breitbart News Daily, the guest Erik Prince claims sources in the NYPD and states “…the amount of garbage that they found in these emails and criminal activity by Hillary Clinton, by her immediate circle, even by other democratic members of congress, was so disgusting they gave it to the FBI and […]

screen-shot-2016-10-28-at-7-54-24-pmComedic value aside (“probe”, “device”, “Weiner”), what we know for certain is that the FBI has reopened its investigation into the into Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified material after discovering emails from the then-Secretary of State on a computer used by the former congressman/full-time pervert Anthony Weiner.

Maybe I’m old-fashioned but I miss the days when you were expected to bow-out of public life the moment your penis appeared on the internet. But the 1990’s were simpler times: in that ancient era the belief was that it was as much for your own good as for the public’s.

It’s the Harvard Lunch Club Political Podcast for August 30, 2016, the “What? Rob Long Again!?” edition of the HLC Podcast. The Ricochet co-founder (@roblong) and former executive producer of Cheers joins us and updates us (with not so subtle “I-told-you-so’s”) on the sinking of the S.S. Trump. Blub, blub, blub. Mike valiantly argues: “it’s a binary election there are only two choices” and “who cares whether you can look your daughter in the eye after voting” and “are you kidding!? we’re talking about Hillary as the alternative!” And Rob’s riposte is: blub, blub, blub.

Rob is of the opinion that Donald Trump is an irredeemable reprobate with a grandiosity complex and sociopathic tendencies. It’s hard to argue given the hole we seem to be in.
