And they roll their eyes as Twitter considers scrapping the “like” button to stop hateful messages from going viral. They also react in very different ways following the Bears’ win over the Jets on Sunday.

They slam MSNBC’s Chuck Todd and others for definitively declaring that there’s no evidence of criminals being part of the thousands of Central Americans headed towards the U.S. border when there is evidence to the contrary. And they weather the final attack ads aimed at their favorite teams ahead of Sunday’s Bears-Jets game.

GOP Voters Energized, FBI Finds Nothing New, Coons Downplays Dem Letter

First, they are encouraged by a new poll showing the the Kavanaugh fight has Republican voters fired up, erasing a big enthusiasm edge for Democrats just a month before the midterm elections. They also welcome statements from Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and other senators that there is nothing in the new FBI report to corroborate the eleventh hour accusations against Judge Kavanaugh and they also get a kick out of Democrats suddenly denouncing the FBI because of it. They applaud Sen. Chris Coons for explaining that Democrats have nothing new on Kavanaugh despite suggesting otherwise on Wednesday. And they applaud the Capitol Police for arresting the person apparently responsible for publicizing the personal information of three Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

And they react to George W. Bush hitting the midterm campaign trail for several candidates, but not for Sen. Ted Cruz in his own state.

If Republicans are not careful, Obama’s most enduring legacy may be a perversion of federal power to ensure that no GOP, present or future, can be assured safety from prosecution or persecution (see protests against Trump staff or the legal fees and testimony under oath many experienced). Democrats started using the law and federal power against Americans they considered opponents during the Obama administration…improperly surveilling specific reporters like Rosen and Attkisson, using IRS to target conservatives to name a couple of examples. As the Obama era wound to a close, things like having key members of the FBI/DOJ upper echelon go rogue, or changing the rules to allow several agencies to receive classified information must have been a piece of cake.

They also unload on a Catholic cardinal from Chicago for suggesting Pope Francis cannot go down “rabbit trails” like rampant allegations of pedophile priests and bishops who covered up the crimes because the pontiff needs to focus more on climate change and building acceptance for migrants. And they roll their eyes as Democrats and the media (but we repeat ourselves) are horrified that any Republican senator would not immediately rush to rename a Senate office building in honor of John McCain and that any opposition to the idea is an endorsement of the segregationist views of the senator for whom the building is currently named.
