That picture is hilarious.
Too good to pass up: which item of clothing has fallen out of common use that you’d like to see back in fashion and why?
Gentlemen,
I have discovered a strange phenomenon. When someone mentions me in with the @ sign in their comment and I quote their comment to respond, I get a message that I have mentioned myself. Not that I don’t enjoy the notoriety, however, won’t this result in a narcissistic infinite loop (much like the Obama administration).
I can’t wait for an answer. I must be going.
Regards,
Jim
It’s a bug. We’re aware of it. @max
James,
What is your favorite Deep Space Nine episode?
What happens when you want to write satire and discover that reality has already leapfrogged you?
Well, considering how vain the member is, it could be a feature. However, I am sure that Max at a minimum will zap the bug. Now I must be going. I have a date.
Regards,
Jim
Given the politics in the USA, is the UK the last hope for conservatism, or at least a conservatism that relates to Classical Liberalism, around the world?
I need to know. The other Progressives and I are aching to sink the UK into the sea, and we’d like to have an excuse.
Virus,
YOU PIRATE YOU! You don’t have a chance.
Regards,
Jim
So, let’s assume the election is lost, because it is. What do things look like November 9th? Republicans still in control of Senate? House? And if the Republican party as we know it is dead, and it is, what does the party that replaces it look like and how long will it take to build a winning coalition?
why does @jameslileks have a blue shirt instead of a canary-yellow one
If you could hand-pick the next president, whom would it be? Please make the case for why this is the best man or woman for the
crisismoment we find ourselves in.For fun, if you could pick anyone from anywhere or any time in history, whom would you choose? For example, I’d seriously consider Bibi Netanyahu, because I think he makes the most eloquent case for Judeo-Christian western values of any contemporary figure.
Question for Peter: We’ve seen in 2012, Romney after accepting the GOP nomination was savaged in the press by having his quotes taken out of context and overly sensationalized. The same occurred prior to Sarah Palin, only it was done by left-leaning pundits to present her as overly dimwitted or gaffe-prone to their own superiority. We’re seeing a mixture now occur with Trump, where his off the cuff mannerisms or comments are deliberately miss reported by the Press and combined with his obvious gaffes. If the primaries are anything to go by, nothing will stop Trump articulating Trumpisms. We’ve seen him make statements that would end his campaign several times and he’s survived. Can the press really defeat Trump with Bad Press alone? Considering he’s gone this far with unfavorable press already and the Khan saga will soon join the ranks of his McCain comments.
Given Peter’s close encounter, what would it be like to be a speechwriter for Trump? It may be frustrating policy-wise; but on the other hand, he doesn’t use text much anyway, so everyday you could be home by lunchtime.
Or maybe, because he’s more experienced with comedy, is that a question for @RobLong?
A man, on purpose, jumped from an airplane at 25,000 ft AGL without a parachute. Is this extraordinary daring do, or the end of civilization?
“Where do babies come from?” Do you agree that this would be the perfect opening question at the first Donald & Hillary debate?
I have two more questions.
When Trump loses the election this November, do you guys think he will give a graceful, unifying concession speech?
Also, are you guys excited for all of the alternative history novels that will revolve around a Trump presidency?
Would you prefer President Clinton with Republican majorities in the House, Senate, and state capitols, or President Trump with Democratic majorities, as may be the case after two years of that strange man’s presidency?
This may have been asked and answered in the past…but if so, I haven’t heard it.
“What was the specific inspiration point behind Ricochet and how did it come about?”
My backup question…
“What can we expect from Ricochet 4.0? Augmented Reality?”
For Peter: What is the most impressive speech you ever heard delivered by a Democrat? Not just the performance, but also craftsmanship in the writing.
Why is there something rather than nothing?
Or if that’s too much, who will win the World Series?
Hint: Giants.
What is the most embarrasing moment of your life?
You receive a magic ticket that allows you to go anywhere at any time in the recent or distant past to be at a concert to hear any musician, singer, band, group–any genre; just for a day (then it’s back to normal). Who would you want to hear?
For James and Rob: Are you going to be happy with a Clinton presidency?
For the Founders: Do you really think landing Ricochet so firmly in the NeverTrump camp was a good idea?
So, in light of the recent terrorist attacks here, including the first suicide bombing on German soil up in Ansbach, what do you think the prospects are for a re-militarisation of central Europe?
And, in light of the ongoing disaster that is Donald Trump’s candidacy, did Ricochet err in not being stridently anti-Trump enough early on?
Because @ejhill got lazy?
Why do you think comment threads on Ricochet are heavily skewed male?
It is 2017. President Hillary Clinton and her close advisor Huma Abedin fly off to somewhere in the world to do something. Bill Clinton and Anthony Weiner are left alone at the White House with a gaggle of interns. What happens next?
There is a good chance that our next president won’t be all that great, but do you think he or she will be any worse than the current one?
