Official PortraitNR_Mic5Jay’s guest today is Sen. Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), the majority leader. The first question borrows phrasing from Hillary Clinton: What difference does it make? What difference does having a majority in the Senate make, given that the other party has the presidency?

Another question is: Are you a right-wing extremist, as the Left charges, or an Establishment marshmallow, as the Right charges? (McConnell says the Left is right.)

Also on the agenda are Iran, immigration, majority leaders past, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Rand Paul, Ronald Reagan, and basketball in the state of Kentucky.

So, sing along with Mitch. (Used to be a television show.)

In a body [like the Senate] the Democrats aren’t irrelevant.”

Well, Mr. McConnell they sure as sunrise made your sorry spine look irrelevant when they were in charge.  Is it too much to ask that you give them a taste of their own medicine? Say eliminating the filibuster in our favor or suspending the two-thirds majority rule for veto overrides for the duration of the national emergency that is the remainder of the Obama presidency.

Nice interview Jay and of course it was good to hear from Mr. McConnell.  I would say one thing:  maybe we can’t win every fight sir but can we at least win ONE fight!  How about actually PUTTING UP a fight!  I mean honestly sometimes it is important to let the neighborhood bully understand he can’t walk around without at least a challenge.

The sad part of this interview from my perspective is the Mr. McConnell doesn’t feel pressured in the least by members of his own party to change tactics so that those of us who support this party with blood and money still feel like our opinion matters.
