Every time I hear Gov. Jindal speak I’m reminded of why he should be our next President . . . more importantly for right now, our next candidate. Clarity of thought and expression. Keen sense for the strategic and tactical shortcomings of the GOP, and proactively working to correct those shortcomings. Two term Red governor in a Blue state with an extraordinary turn-around record.  He’s among a new, post Bush-Clinton era generation of politicians.

Oh yeah, compelling first generation immigrant – to – Governor personal story.  I’m just desperate to hear Democrats twist themselves in knots explaining how the White Granma from Chappaqua understands the plight of common folk better than this ‘person of color.’

He is in a crowded field of similarly impressive Governors (Senators ought to be ruled out for anything but VP — no exceptions), but none have his complete package of talents and attributes.

So, why isn’t he doing better in the polls?

Bobby is my man, there is no one more qualified to lead the country. Marco is as impressive and I could be as enthusiastic about him as I am with Bobby but I just like that Mr. Jindal is a serious Catholic too.

I’m not Catholic but I’m thrilled to have someone like Jindal who thinks faith matters and proclaims it.  I don’t know that Rubio isn’t every bit as serious about his faith, however.

The big difference between them is Executive experience.  It matters.  Legislators tend not to understand that large enterprises require decisions in order to run successfully.  For legislators the process of making decisions is the product.  They don’t have to worry about implementation and it shows when they are suddenly thrust into an executive role.  Cruz ran a large Attorney General office in TX, so that somewhat mitigates his relative lack of executive experience–but only somewhat.
