@davesussman, I am so pleased you were able to do the fancy footwork so everything could come together for this interview.
Backstory: Most Whiskey Politics interviews are conducted either via Skype, or on location at the Malibu studio*, but due to a remodeling project, Dave needed to get creative with his last two in-person interviews. Thanks to our friend David Spady and the good folks at KRLA, he was able to explore the opinions and character to CA gubernatorial candidate John Cox for 40 minutes in studio, and this week, Dave found a beautiful location in Pacific Palisades to discuss the remarkable story of Tim Phillips and Americans for Prosperity. Unfortunately, there were buzzing flies, (yuck), but both gentlemen soldiered through without waving their hands in the air, for the edification of all.
Back-back story: In the early days of the tea party, I found a place as a digital documentarian, and the day I first met Tim was (I’m pretty sure) the last time Andrew Breitbart ever spoke publicly, in late 2012. Americans for Prosperity had arranged for Andrew, Michelle Malkin and Ann McElhinney, later of Gosnell fame, along with others, to do speaking events all across Michigan. I was hired to shoot video. At that point, Tim’s AFP had turned innumerable fledgling activists into well-informed soldiers for freedom, and he later launched many focused efforts that were to lead to a rebirth of liberty and the delicious defeat of Hillary Clinton.
As always, Dave asks probing questions, then allows for fully-fleshed explanations, making his informative interviews the best. Even when getting attacked by flies.

An excellent episode, Dave.
