Could Social Security distribute over $6,000 per month instead of $1,200 (with the same money in)? Is it possible that most people can somehow agree on the pro-choice/pro-life debate? Should we eliminate the Department of Education? This fascinating, wide-ranging and fun discussion with media heavyweight, entrepreneur, Author and now CEO of Crave News, Kent Emmons show’s how most of the RIght and Left can come together to solve the biggest problems of our time. As news networks have become unabashedly biased and dangerously divisive, and the average age of the Fox News viewer is 68, Kent is creating an exciting platform that will revolutionize news and content for a new generation. Pro-life is “far, far, right?”

Guess I’m not in the Crave News demographic.

Hey Perc. That’s not in context to what he meant. He was referring to both sides using the issue to raise money from their base. Earlier he stated that the 80% all agree that late-term abortion is evil.

Reportedly politicians only spend one hour a year on abortion. It’s a bogey for raising money. If it reverted to the states reportedly all kinds of politicians would change positions. We would all be better off if the GOP just dropped the legal threats and made the moral case. Furthermore you can’t force any woman to provide a decent level of prenatal care especially if they are upset about the pregnancy. It’s a known fact that this can cause attachment problems which are a real bitch to fix.

On Social Security, I think the main thing is they all just told a bunch of lies about Social Security and Medicare and none of it was ever defined or managed sensibly. Is it social insurance or is it an account? I think that is where you need to start. I recently heard an explanation that FDR did the right thing with Social Security to head off disastrous political trends here, but I’m not an expert. LBJ was just a straight out liar from the word “go”. There was bipartisan recognition within eight years that Medicare was going to be a disaster.

The best time to deal with this was right after the Soviet Union fell.

The number one enemy is central bank discretion, but we can’t get rid of it because none of the other central banks will get rid of it. That is why you can’t control spending or unfunded liabilities. This will end the hard way.

Serves me right for listening while I’m browsing. I’m what is known in the fundraising racket as a “hard target.”

Regarding birthright citizenship, not all of it is accomplished via tourism. I did a tour on active duty with an alliance partner overseas. My counterpart in the other military had done a tour in the US, and while there had a kid, making his child American. I’ve heard of foreign businessmen who do the same thing when they are posted in the US.

A thought: If we could only start extracting taxes from the children of foreigners that were born in the US, then I think people would start to see the bad side of this. Those kids will eventually start earning money, and some of them lots of money.

What’s wrong with being a gold bug? I’d say, I’m sort of a wanna be gold bug.
