Here’s how you respond to that: “Right back at you, dude.” Then you do your best to stay calm and express the truth as you know and understand it. It also helps to acknowledge that you could be wrong. … The only success I’ve ever had in walking away from such verbal assaults is by neutralizing their POV by letting them know that their criticisms of you do not stab you in the chest; they roll off your back.

A couple of months ago I came to the conclusion that COVID-19 is a neuro-respiratory virus. It starts in the lungs, then attacks the brain. It’s the best explanation for the last 3-4 months.

She keeps emphasizing, rightly, that people need to be self-reliant. Minnesota is a terrible state for black people. Number 50 educational race disparity. Number 50 in racial disparities in housing affordability. Crime is bad in all of the black areas and it never improves. I haven’t seen a comprehensive discussion of this, but supposedly blacks are better off in Mississippi, which is known to be the state with statistically the worst quality of life. Blacks are getting mowed down by COVID-19 here even though we are soooo progressive. I’m not an expert on this, but I think we’ve got a really bad gentrification problem here as well. They wouldn’t run the new light rail system through the black areas, which strikes me as a racist decision. It seems to me you need to get away from certain towns if you’re black.

Interestingly, George Floyd was moved to Minnesota by a Christian group after he got out of prison. You would think it would be a great place with all of this progressive power and being way up in the north but I think it’s one of the worst offenders of systemic racism caused by the Democrat party up here.

The riots have destroyed so much financial capital that is never coming back and this is going to destroy human capital. It’s causing all kinds of headaches for the old people that live in those areas. Now the city needs more money than ever and the tax base is toast.

This was really good on black lives matter. It started 3/4 of the way into the first hour. The podcast is free.

Bevelyn Beatty reminds me of a local minister we have here, Rev. Tim Christopher. He hates Democrats and he knows what he wants out of Republicans and policy changes. He came to the rescue on a lot of situations after the riot. He’s pro gun because the cops aren’t protecting the black areas. He’s really good on gun policy. He’s pretty big on Twitter. I think he’s getting a lot of donations now.

I’m saying this over and over again until people realize how nauseatingly true it is:

The American Gulag Archipelago is officially among us and it’s called Public Education.

Great podcast and interview. God bless Bevelyn Beatty and her ministry. Hearing her mention David Barton brought me back decades, and I need to look him up again. I met him long ago when he came to my church, speaking specifically on education and religion, from a historical perspective. Look up David Barton and Wall Builders online.

Dave – maybe get him on the show?

The progressives had a mea culpa at the Hubert Humphrey school of government yesterday. It would be funny except it isn’t. I think there is a one hour YouTube of it.
