Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
The Republican National Convention is over, Trump made his case for a second term and the country is in the middle of shootings, riots, lootings and not to mention, a pandemic.
Did Trump make the case for a second term? And how does the violence playing out across the country factor into the campaign and who does it hurt more? Biden? Trump?
Jay, Seth, Grant, and Park answer those questions and also give their picks for this week’s magazine.

As of 11:50, my reaction is, this is a lousy podcast, with poorly prepared participants.
I’ll stick with it a little longer …
At 15:00 — OK, that’s enough.
The general effect is to make me wonder if I should continue my subscription to the Washington Examiner magazine!
Presidents don’t run cities. That is pretty much all I have to say to your 50:18 rambling.
My reactions tracked yours precisely, Taras – with the exception that I’m now happy I’ve turned down their multiple offers for 20 weeks of the Washington Examiner magazine for only a dollar a week. At 15:04, I finally hit pause to see if anyone else at Ricochet had the same impression I had. They’ve lost a listener – as have Mona & Jay, Commentary Magazine, Jonah, even the Mad Dog and the Englishman.
I’ve encouraged these Hamlets in prior podcasts to grow a set that they could at least share between themselves, but they are hopeless.
These Mag “Men” could learn a lot about conviction and principle from The American Mind podcast.
I won’t give up on the magazine yet, but certainly this podcast acts as the opposite of the advert for the magazine it’s probably intended to be.
They begin with congratulations to some of them for not watching the RNC — but then go ahead and comment on it. When I gave up, somebody who had not watched it was criticizing Trump’s speech, based on a transcript!
