Schlichter Kruiser Katz Tracked and Targeted

Are you ready for some red meat?

In this episode of Tracked and Targeted we learn why Hillary is a phony, how the only people who are afraid of guns in America work in the news media, and why the first act of an independent Scotland would be to invade Schlichterland.

A Block: The Real, Gosh-Dawn Total Truth About Hillary

How can there be any substance to a candidate who has somebody else grill their steaks at a famous Iowan steak fry? Not to worry though, cause you won’t believe who threw Hillary under the bus.

B Block: Hollywood’s Woman Problem

What do Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, King of Queens, Sons of Anarchy, and Scandal have in common? Horrible female characters. Bonus points if you can guess who’s watching Scandal (a show he claims is built on a premise of jumping the shark again and again).

C Block: The Assault Weapon Myth

We hold this truth to be self evident: Guns don’t kill people, bullets do. In this Block the crew travels through the looking glass to discuss an article in the New York Times that debunks a number of liberal fantasies about gun control.

D-Dog Block: Free For All

In the future, the D Block will be reserved for the thoughtful consideration of your questions and comments. This week? Not so much.

This podcast has a great morning zoo vibe! I just can’t enough! Just one thing: Could you add wacky sound effects?

That would make the podcast so perf.

The unfocused verbal meandering I did during this podcast is the most I’ll wander this month.

Responding to your request for comments:

I enjoy the podcast, but cringe a bit when I hear generalizations like, “Everything liberals say is a lie,” as you did on the gun discussion. That just sounds silly and thus hurts your point for me. A more accurate statement that would make you sound like a more thoughtful/civilized conservative (which I think is the idea behind Ricochet) is, “Everything they say is a lie or incredibly uniformed and naive.”

Then again, I love Delingpole and he’s a lunatic.

This was great, quite mean on hillary, though. Looking those pictures, I have to say I didnt know Ron Jeremy was conservative.

Also, I’m a big fan of all the angst-ridden, heartbroken duets that seem popular these days because I enjoy listening to men sing about their inadequacy with a tremble in their voice. Any chance you guys could open up and show some vulnerability? I think it would round out the show if you guys could share some of your true feelings instead of hiding behind this macho, gun-toting facade for the whole show. Just a suggestion!

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the call out, I suppose. Younger daughter is 7 and just a bit too young for references to sodomy. She will ask what it means. As a conservative I’m all about age appropriate. She does listen to Hugh Hewitt in the car on the way home from school.

Completely agree with Tony’s recommendation to avoid Disney. Same daughter used to watch it until she was snotty with me. I reminded her that I’m her mother & not the figment of some script writer.

I’m soooo glad someone admitted that they don’t like Dr. Who. I watched it once to see what all the hullabaloo was about, but I hated it. I hated it so much I was angry about it. It was so acne-covered, a.v. club, low-T dorky, I think my ovaries seized up while watching it. I like some aspects of nerd culture and entertainment : The Big Bang Theory, Talking Dead, etc., but I think it’s a little overdone – even on here at times (e.g., ask James Lileks or Jonah Goldberg a Star Trek question). I think you guys are a good counter weight to it. I love your unapologetic guy-ness. Don’t get me wrong, I love cerebral nerdy types like James and Jonah, but you guys are a great, much-needed addition to the mix.

    What does Kurt Schlichter like?

So far I know he likes hot Latin women, guns and (IIRC) top shelf booze.

What the heck else does a guy need to like?!?

    Hey guys,

You asked for it, so here it is.

You are dead-on with the Hollywood/cinema/TV comments, keep ’em comin’

Speaking of ‘cringe-worthy’ dialogue, your treatment of the Scottish independence issue was less than zero (B. E. Ellis ref there :-) ) For guys who don’t know the diff between Wales and Scotland, you could at least listen to Delingpole’s podcast first before you guys go on about it.

And finally, you totally miss the point of Breaking Bad and Skylar White: Walter does the whole deal ‘for the family’, totally believing that doing wrong is actually doing right by his family. Skylar is horrified at the realization of what is happening, and goes into passive aggression, which horrifies Walter — why can’t she appreciate the risk…and the reward? (She eventually gets better than him at laundering the money — she engineered the car wash deal and Ted’s death, but she’s still sick of the whole thing). It’s supposed to make you cringe, and in the end Walter admits in the last episode that he really isn’t doing it for the family — he says it’s because ‘I’m good at it’ and he makes the best stuff, which he is proud of. Wives really act like that. (You’ll find out. :-) )

Anyway, I like the stream of consciousness, floating bull session feel of the show. Even though you have official topics for the segments they seem like just suggestions on where to start, and I especially like the pop-culture refs (You made me go back and look at Trainspotting again, not a good thing — you b@stards! Ha!)

    Best Regards,

    Bit

Hillary’s steak fry tong shot was political cheese at its saddest. She is so earnestly trying to be liked and to appear like someone you’d like to actually talk to, it’s tooth-grindingly painful. For all of Bill’s flaws, he seems to genuinely *like* people, and she doesn’t. Her Benghazi statements were Hillary In Full. I think that once-innocent knucklehead from the 70’s decided to stand by her “man”, and it must gall her endlessly to know that everything she now claims as “accomlishments” are simply the fruit of her being married to Bill.

She’s everything and nothing at the same time. Her education and ability should have been enough, but weren’t, so despite some oddly profitable cattle-future trading (not sure how a lawyer is supposed to know markets that well), the rest of her life has been on the public dime. And sadly, it looks like she feels she deserves compensation for everything she’s put up with – and she’s pissed about it to boot.

Imagine working for someone who is that unhappy. Gah.

Just a tad too much testosterone. I hope as time goes on and personalities begin to mesh there will be more chemistry.
