James, cheer up. The Canadian government refused to sigm Kyoto, has rebranded Nancy Pelosi’s smear of our oil as tar sands to Ethical Oil, and is sending train loads of energy to our coast to get shipped to China and 80% of our energy exports goes to the USA, with or without Keystone.

My sons’ schools even have guest speakers from the oil industry giving presentations on their technology and how Al Gore got it wrong.

Joe Oliver, a top politician, regularly trashes Darryl Hannah and her funders. Greenpeace is no linger an admired organization but seen to be an irrational bully.

But then again, most of our economy is built on energy and mining. Our hubs of industry are being encouraged to buikd tge best services and technology to support oil, gas and mining.

Even our aboriginals are having their finances leaked to the media and the average Canadian knows the amount of money each band has. The noble, nature living Indian is no longer the image.

As for DDT, I lived in Zambia where the mine sprayed the housing township with DDT and the malaria was stopped. My friends and famiky are alive and kicking still.

Sorry guys, ‘We have to destroy it to save it’ Is another lefty myth that was too good to check by the reporters involved.

Great guest, once again. (Pity about the audio issues. I know, I know – Skype.)

Darwall is correct that in the medium term the impetus for maintaining the green agenda will come from big business. In a rational world, this would make big, regulation-entrenched business a juicy target for the GOP. I will not hold my breath.

That polar bear looks a little uncomfortable on that shrinking iceberg – I would, too, if it was between my legs 😉

Am I the only one who chuckled hearing two Englishmen interrupt their conversation to make a pitch for Hillsdale’s online course on the heritage of America’s Constitution?

Oh, you mean the Constitution that repeatedly refers to “the right”, meaning a right established in British statute and Common Law, and under which most states made British Common Law the starting point for their jurisprudence?

Thank you for speaking up for birds and pointing out the hypocrisy of the Audubon Society.

    Lord D –

Perish the thought of giving up the feisty fight; not until it fizzles out on it’s own.

Trust me – by the time you have grand kids, you’ll have so many great stories to tell….

As for the US, perhaps it’s still time for America to do the right thing after it’s exhausted all the alternative ;-D.

I enjoyed one Englishman asking another if he was “RINO squish”. I hope it’s not spreading beyond these shores.

Great episode. I always appreciate James immediately taking things over the top.

By the way, here’s a link to the US Amazon page. Any chance of a Kindle or Audible version?

Would it be very rude of me to wonder how hard would it be to clean up the audio? Surely the wonders of modern technology extend to producing a podcast that isn’t full of jumps and weird stroby effects and all that?? Having said that, James, it was fantastic to hear your thoughts and those of Rupert. I don’t share your pessimism though. Here in Australia we are all but certain to elect, in about 6 months, a skeptic as PM. Strong action on climate change is about as popular as root canal here. Patchauri, the IPCC head, admitted last week that the planet hasn’t warmed in 17 years. Climate change is on the ropes and unlikely to recover. What we should be doing is anticipating what the Left will use as their next stalking horse, so we can be ready to burst that bubble as well. NYT columnist and Nobel laureate Paul Krugman wants us all to get panicky over an imaginary alien invasion. Quite seriously. I’m sure other equally wacky ideas are being tossed around by the left as they watch their great green hope dissolve before their eyes.
