I think the biggest ignorance when it comes to education research is the complete failure to normalize for parental status. From what I have seen that is the only thing that really matters when it comes to educational outcomes that is significant most other things are just on the margins.

Also can you please be a bit more informed about subjects before you talk about them. The decision in the apple case was Ireland gave apple special tax breaks to move there that other corporations in Ireland could not get. I don’t know if the EU should be able to make that type of ruling but I am against special sweetheart tax deals that only big connected corporations get. That is crony capitalism.

I loved Stranger Things, I agree with James it is the best thing on Netflix now.

I like the new–or at least this show’s–balance with more politics and broader cultural topics and less obsessive commentary on TV shows I haven’t seen and have no intention of seeing.

I prefer the old title. The new one is deracinated and anodyne. “Soundcast” isn’t quite corporate plop, but it sounds like those too-twee-by-half names that became fashionable in the ’70s (Rape of the Lock, anyone?), except I can’t see where the joke is.
