Lucretia hosts this week’s episode, which takes up exactly where we left off last week’s episode—with the topic of vote fraud and whether Democrats might (ahem) steal the election from Trump. Without revisiting the weirdness and irregularities of the 2020 result distorted by the Covind-induced election rules changes, we go over in some detail what changes have been made over the last four years, including serious preparations by Republicans and the Trump campaign to not be caught flat-footed by any “irregularities” in the vote result.

Have Republicans ever been any good at this? Actually, the contested election in Florida in 2000 gives some reason for optimism, as John (who was there) and Steve reflect. And Steve reminds us of some old history, such as Jimmy Carter’s warning back in 2005 that mail-in balloting was a recipe for voter fraud, along the way debunking claims—subsequently bolstered by academic political science—that mail voting doesn’t increase turnout overall or by minorities. Still sound advice, and Republicans ought to force Democrats into the uncomfortable position of repudiating Saint Jimmy.

We take a couple of digressions, first into John’s inaugural experience with the new McDonald’s chicken Big Mac (two thumbs up!), and then some explanation of why the public polls and campaign polls are diverging (with all good news for Trump).

The episode culminates with a Lucretia soliloquy on how the central principle of voting ought to be meaningful citizenship, not making voting as convenient as a trip to 7-11.

Yes, the sure-fire sign that the Dems knew they were losing is when they put her on that “media blitz,” hoping desperately they would get enough softball questions to produce social media and mainstream media clips to make her look semi-competent.  You don’t throw a Hail Mary pass when you’re winning.

The second sign was when Obama and the Media Wing of the Democratic Party started harping on men not supporting her because she is a woman. You don’t make excuses for why you’re losing when you’re winning.

Steve’s point about civics education — as depressing as it is — is right on the mark. What sort of civics education are these fools going to develop? There will be a few wise patriots like Lucretia saying, “Um, wait a minute…”, but it will not be enough.

She can’t even do softball interview questions without taking a few in the teeth…

“What would you do differently than the Biden Administration?”

    Either

“Not a single thing comes to mind”

    or

“I am not Joe Biden, nor am I Donald Trump … I am a different person” … That would have been a great time to rip off the the latex “Mission Impossible” mask to reveal Joe Biden….

Both answers should be in Trump ad .. Starting with her “Turn the page” clip, then the “Not a Single thing” Clip and “Not Joe Biden” returning to the “Turn the page” clip… Voice over “Turn the page, but its the same story”

One unmentioned possibility is that now there are few ‘shy’ Trump voters but many ‘shy’ Kammy voters—-I cannot fathom how she supposedly has a HUGE lead among College educated whites….a room temp IQ should force you to lie that you were going to vote for that twit! Hence, a shy Kammy vote is possible.

She does NOT wear well…Trump should be able to break away. With a $Billion she should ALREADY have blown this up in her favor…that she has not is the best news for The Donald’.

Trump should be comforted knowing he got exactly as many Primary votes for the Democrat nomination as she did!

I am not sure that the Shy voter applies to democrat candidates as sharply as it does to Trump Voters.

Mostly Trump voters are smeared in the national and sometimes local medias in ways that democrat or Kamala voters would never be. So the level of fear amongst these voters should be much lower… Not saying that their aren’t exceptions or that it never happens – just saying I dont think the shy democrat is nearly as common as the shy republican.

Hillary Clinton as had a Billion dollar campaign, the endorsement of every newspaper, every celebrity. But at the end of the day, no matter how much you advertise, the message has to resonate with the people.

Regarding voting. I agree with Lucretia on voting. It should be a civic sacrament, not a holiday or something done without thinking. But what is keeping groups who have strong reasons to care about the results from registering and voting? I hear that something like 10 million gun owners and hunters are not registered to vote. This seems odd. I wonder is part of this is due to the traditional use of voter rolls for picking jury pools? Given the view that one vote doesn’t make much difference, but for self-employed or those working for very small businesses, jury duty can be an expensive proposition. If a group of potentially eligible voters with similar interests stays out of the process, how much are they skewing government against their interests.

I think the new Harris-Walz campaign slogan would make a good signoff for the podcast:

“…drink your whiskey neat, and until next time…Not a single thing comes to mind.”

The most interesting thing from this podcast is the change in John Yoo’s opinion of the ’20 election since he appeared on the R> podcast in November of 20 and declared that the election was just fine.  Now, finally, he seems to see that there was a massive legal attack by the Left on election integrity and the GOP was caught flat-footed for a number of reasons.  Now he is excited to see GOP lawyers fighting Elias and his crew in every state and hopefully there won’t be a repeat of 20.

Good observation. I was a little surprised at his enthusiasm.
