Big votes are coming soon on impeachment and in Iowa. Join Jim and Greg as they dive into reports suggesting three Senate Democrats are torn between convicting and acquitting President Trump. But will any of them actually buck their party? They also shudder at reports that the head of the Harvard chemistry department took taxpayer-funded research grants, only to pass his discoveries along to the Chinese for a very handsome sum of money – and he’s not alone. And while Jim generally gives high marks to Florida Sen. Rick Scott, he is exasperated to see Scott launching ads in Iowa which most analysts see as a thinly veiled preview of a 2024 White House bid.

Gee, ¡JEB! could try running again, too. That would give us four from Florida.

“In 1998-1999 … Republicans were convinced that Bill Clinton had really broken the law …”

Remember, Jim Geraghty is always wrong.

Nobody doubts “that Bill Clinton had really broken the law”.  The only issue was whether perjury in a sexual harassment case is impeachable or not.

$50,000 a month?  Who does this chemistry professor think he is, Hunter Biden?

Wow, odd marketing.  Between martinis 2 and 3, I got a Spanish-language promo for what sounded like a Las Vegas casino.

You can blame me, since it was probably reading where I had mentioned ¡JEB! up above.

Or maybe someone misunderstood Greg Corombos.

Both ads are for Mazda SUVs on my playback … Which I was at first enthusiastic about – you know Ricochet moving up in the ad world getting car ads.

According to my IP, I’m in Southern California, I think.  Which isn’t true.  But it seems all the Exede/ViaSat Internet IPs appear to be in SoCal…  So maybe that’s why they thought I would understand Spanish?

I got Spanish-language ads for Whataburger all the time at the start and finish of the podcast last year. I’m assuming it’s based on where the algorithm thinks your IP address is originating from, and what the likely demographics are there. Apparently, Radio America’s system thinks I’m somewhere in South Texas or El Paso.

There’s a lot of What-A-Burger in Arizona too, and maybe even some in SoCal and Nevada?

Know they’re in the Phoenix area. Don’t think they’ve made it to SoCal yet, even though In ‘N Out’s made it the other way into Texas.
