The search is still on for a good martini this week. Today, Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America react to the Turkish military striking Kurdish targets just two days after the U.S. announced it would move forces out of the area so Turkey could attack one of our closest allies in the fight against ISIS. They also shudder at rape allegations against former “Today” show host Matt Lauer and at new revelations about the steps NBC executives took to downplay Lauer’s actions and stop journalist Ronan Farrow from releasing his Harvey Weinstein story that started the #MeToo movement. And they recoil as two NBA fans are removed from an NBA game in the U.S. for bringing signs and voicing support for Hong Kong.

That was Latrell Sprewell, not Allen Iverson, who choked P.J. Carlesimo.

Great point. China managed to keep our values from being imported, while exporting theirs. Time to re-evaluate the China relationship, and investment policies.

I don’t know that China actually exported their values, so much as getting in line with the current PC rules against free speech. The left is so used to telling – and being told – what can’t be said or done, that they don’t even try to push back.

I heard a quote a while back, not sure who it was from originally – maybe Victor Davis Hanson? wouldn’t surprise me – something like “It’s easy to tell Republicans from Democrats these days. The Republican is openly carrying a pistol in a holster, and the Democrat is arguing against free speech.”

    a) I would love to see NATO attempt to kick the US out. Or they’d say, “We don’t want your stinkin’ money.” Yeah, right.
    b) Not forcing our will on Turkey is going to drive them to Russia, but dictating to them will keep them in line? Yeah, right.
    c) Here’s an idea: Let Congress declare war on Turkey. That will force Trump to ignore its strategic concerns. Yeah, right.
