State of the Union, Pelosi ripping up the speech, the Senate impeachment vote, and the ongoing incompetence of Iowa Democrats. We’ve got it all for you today on Wednesday’s Three Martini Lunch. Join Jim and Greg as they applaud the amazing number of record-low unemployment statistics cited by President Trump in his State of the Union address Tuesday night. They’re also big fans of conservative policy ideas espoused in the speech and note the impressive guests Trump invited and highlighted in his address. In contrast, they also assess House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripping up her copy of the speech right after Trump finished and what is says about Democrats nine months before Election Day. Finally, they have plenty more to say as Iowa Democrats release more than two-thirds of the caucus results but aren’t sure when or if the rest of the votes will be announced.

Love that hot Latin music in the commercials! Though the only word I understand is Ticketmaster.

By any chance, does the ad server reside in Iowa?

The inserted ads (those not read by Greg and Jim) seem to be run based on some type of location algorithm, possibly based on the Internet Service Provider used to download the podcast? When I download using my home internet in Texas, I often get very specific Texas-oriented ads.  But when I’m traveling and using hotel WiFi or cellular data, I get a different mix of ads. Maybe your ISP is based in Mexico or California. :-)

If so, then the ISP would have had to move last night!

Twerking on the White House Lawn: Sure, Trump can do it, and barely anyone will care, but when I do it…

I still think it might have something – if only a little something – to do with the name Corombos.

Trump did not shake hands with Pence either when he handed out the speeches. It appears he did not see Pelosi’s hand shake proffered.

3 out of 4 Spanish promos this one.  And the last one was for UEI, and then Grocery Outlet, still an “insert” not something Jim and Greg read themselves.

I download the podcasts and I get ads targeted to Charlotte, North Carolina, which is near where I live. I have also sometimes gotten ads in Spanish. I figured that the algorithm somehow knew that I spend my working hours at the computer, translating documents from Spanish to English.

Algorithms aren’t perfect.  To them, maybe Corombos = Carumba.

@ Greg and Jim, WTF, you blatantly misrepresented the hand shake.  Trump DID NOT shake Pence’s hand, and his turn away from Pelosi  was so fast that it is implausible to make a case either way – intentional, or not intentional.  But your misrepresentation of the event is malpractice.  A correction is in order.

In Japan, children are taught that America was discovered by Chlistopher Corombos.
