Gentle correction. The Dems polled the Bob Turner district and discovered that he was very competitive (for the first time since 1923!) SO the Dems Gerrymandered it out of existence.. Only then, and belatedly, did he decide that the Senate seat looked inviting —but the Conservatives went for Long who was trounced by Gillebrand.
