Great thing about the convention – Kasich cannot “give” his delegates to anybody. He can ask his supporters to vote for Trump on a second ballot, but that only works if the his delegates are truly Kasich people. Many states in 2012 elected delegates who were really Ron Paul people even though they were bound to Romney on the first ballot. If Kasich delegates are actually Cruz or Rubio people, what are the chances they listen to Kasich.

In other words – Kasich really can’t guarantee his delegates to Trump or anybody else, and any candidate who offers him the VP slot to get them is gambling.

Kasich would seem to be available for the VP slot. And maybe he could win Ohio in the process. Or maybe not.
