I’m not a supporter of Buttigieg. But let’s be realistic. Isn’t arresting violent black people, to protect non-violent black people, actually the way it’s supposed to work for ALL races?
And what happens to a mayor who DOESN’T arrest violent black people, to protect non-violent black people?
Biden ain’t a stutterer.
Apparently, according to the left he proves he’s not a racist.
Well according to SOME of the left, anyway. And probably a lot of “black leaders” such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. I suspect the rest – likely 90% or more – probably DO want to be protected from the violent ones. Which could explain why Trump gets a larger share of the vote than previous GOP candidates.
The best Democrat presidents talk without saying anything. clinton – Obama. This is not new.
This is really an argument about the nature of reality.
Conservatives point out that the reason more black people get involved with the justice system is that black people have a higher crime rate than whites or Asian Americans.
Progressives assert that it is axiomatically impossible for blacks to have a higher crime rate than other groups; to assert otherwise is racist. The statistics are the product of a racist criminal justice system and are therefore disregarded. Progressive ideology trumps reality.
This explains the policy of the Obama Education Department toward school discipline. That black kids were being disciplined more often than other kids was proof of racism among public school teachers and administrators, not a symptom of the collapse of the black family.
Schools were required to play affirmative action games with school discipline to “get the numbers right”. The only way to do this was to punish white kids and not punish black kids, for the same acts.
Maybe fewer would end up facing criminal charges and prison, if they had been held accountable when younger.
