Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America wade through a very somber day on the Three Martini Lunch. They recoil at two horrific weekend mass shootings – one in Texas and another in Ohio – and where we stand as nation. They also evaluate how President Trump is responding and not responding to the heinous killings and how Democrats are pointing the finger of blame squarely at Trump. And, after being away last week, Greg comments on the passing of his father and the legacy his dad leaves behind.

Greg, my sincerest sympathies on the loss of your dad. Your tribute was awesome and had me in tears. Jim, your words of condolence were also very meaningful.
Prayers for your mom and extended family and that you have the confidence of seeing your dad again one day.
Condolences on the loss of your father, Greg. Thank you for that great tribute. We’ll keep you and your family in our prayers.
Kim, thanks so much for your prayers and your very kind words of encouragement and hope that I share. I appreciate them very much.
Thanks so much, Jim. Very kind of you to reach out. It means a lot to all of us.
I think many people were touched by your memories. I’ve never heard of a softball game being an emergency either. However, there is an old English expression that a man has had “good innings” if his life has been full and good. Clearly, that fits your father.
Many condolences in what I know is a difficult time.
Greg, so sorry for hearing about your father. Sounds like a great man. This is a tough thing to get through. You and your family are in my prayers. Just from the clip you played, I think you inherited his voice.
Thank you very much, Lois. Appreciate your condolences.
Thank you, David. I appreciate your prayers very much. And your kind words about the voice.
Greg, you were blessed with a wonderful father! I liked the little audio clip, because he had that great Yooper accent. Remembering you in my prayers.
Thanks so much Karen. I’ve still got the accent. Every time I’m there it’s like the switch got flipped!
I would never guess you were from the U.P. from your accent. Jon Gabriel on the other hand…I was born in Bruce Crossing, all Finnish grandparents. One of my roommates at Michigan State told me her first impression of me was that I was a foreign student.
