WTF Jim? “Al Queda never pulled off anything like” the pipeline hack? Sure, all they did was bring down some very large, very important buildings, and kill thousands of people in them!
Logged in here in a long time to say exactly this (except I think “geld” here is technically money, not necessarily gold).
Surgeons in the operating room do not wear masks to prevent the spread of viruses. They wear masks to reduce bacteria transmission.
Studies from both MIT and Berkeley show wearing masks do (a) nothing to slow the spread of Covid and (b) have adverse results on the health of those wearing masks. (For the first time ever when I had my annual physical my blood CO2 was abnormally high. That was an artifact of the doctor’s office forcing me to wear a mask for 90 minutes before drawing blood.)
Additionally Covid does not spread by surface transmission – only through transmission of airborne particles too small to be stopped by anything other than a properly-worn N-95 mask. If you believe wearing masks seriously reduce the chance of contracting Coivid-19 there is a word that describe you: superstitious.

The viruses are too small to be stopped by most masks.
However, the liquid droplets the viruses travel on — and apparently need, to remain infective — are much larger.
I wish I could say masks were completely useless, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
