The moderator should not be able to ad hoc silence candidates at his whim. That would be dumb and invite all kinds of accusation. Instead, the format should give each candidate time to respond to questions with other candidates silenced by rule, and then there can be a period of open discussion between the candidates.
We have heard mention in the past of weird ads being attached to this podcast. Today there were 6 separate incidents of a Biden ad claiming that Trump failed to protect the nation from Covid 19. I have no problem with the Democrats paying for my listening pleasure, particularly when I have this neat little button on my iTunes player that allows me to skip ahead in thirty seconds jumps, nearly the perfect amount to bipass Biden’s blather. I suspect that the number of ads connected to the Three Martini Lunch is not an attempt to gain new voters, but, rather, an obvious and overt attempt to annoy conservatives.
I’m not so sure of that. It would just be a waste of money. Mind, I was hearing ads for my senator today. They must be worried he’s going to lose. (Hope he does.)
I think it’s more likely that the ads are packaged and distributed to different price points.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo: “And we never needed nursing home beds …”
Cuomo is absolutely correct: there was never any need to force nursing homes to take infectious patients.
But his administration did anyway.
It occurs to me, one of the reasons New York State didn’t need all those additional beds is that COVID-19 patients there had the polite habit of dying quickly, instead of tying up those beds.
