Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are aghast as the threat to life along the Texas coast gets more dire but they are amazed at the tireless efforts by exhausted heroes to save thousands and thousands of lives. They also disgusted, but not surprised, as North Korea fired a missile over Japan in one of the most provocative acts in years. And they sigh as the mainstream media leap to the conclusion that man-caused climate change is responsible for the extent of the devastation in Texas.

Key thing to note about the Houston response from citizens: Houston absorbed a lot of refugees from New Orleans last decade and watched as New Orleans folks waited for help, and none came. This time folks are taking the initiative and not waiting for government direction.
Note to Jim, it would not be a second Korean War. We only have a cease fire. If the firing begins again in earnest, it’s still the same war that was last hot in the early fifties. It will be the same war, just as there was only one Gulf War with a lull of several years due to a conditional cease fire.
