David French of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America react to the horrific news that the armed sheriff’s deputy assigned to Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School was aware of the shooter and never went in to confront him.  They also recoil at reports the sheriff’s office was specifically warned in November that the shooter would do this and that his own family asked the sheriff’s office to take his guns away.  David details his latest column, explaining how law-abiding Americans should have access to so-called “assault weapons” in order to match the firepower of criminals and because our founders actually did intend it to be this way.  And they discuss the political freefall of now-indicted Republican Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, who is facing charges of invasion of privacy in connection with an extramarital affair with his hairdresser before running for governor.

    Please read this Twitter thread:

tl/dr: To address the problem of the school-to-prison pipeline, Broward County schools and LEOs adopted an informal “program” to not interfere with student criminal behavior, and to even actively cover it up, so that they could improve their stats and get all kinds of federal goodies.

The school officers are not intended to prevent crime, much less massacres:

“Understanding the risk behind the scheme, it became increasingly important to put the best corrupt cops in the schools. *BEST* as in *SMARTEST*. Those SRO’s became the ones who were best at hiding the unlawful conduct.

“Again, over time, the most corrupt police officers within the system became the police inside the schools. These officers were those who are best skilled at identifying the political objectives and instructions.

“Those “School Cops” also have special privileges. It’s a great gig. They get free “on campus” housing close to the schools they are assigned to etc. They’re crooked as hell and the criminal kids how just how to play them. It’s a game. Also an open secret.”

The terrorists in the Har Nof murders were killed by a volunteer with the traffic police. A volunteer! With the traffic police! Who gives speeding tickets and arrests drunk drivers.

His unit was one of the first on the scene and the dispatcher said “go in and get them” so he did.

The policeman who was a few feet in front of him died.

I can vouch for this. The volunteer is a family member.
