Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are thoroughly disgusted as Senate Democrats unveil their talking points, simultaneously demanding an FBI investigation to the get to the truth of the allegation against Brett Kavanaugh and stating they believe the accuser.  They also shudder as Trump allies and the Republican National Committee are terrified that many Trump voters are thoroughly convinced the Democrats have no chance to win the midterm elections and suggest GOP turnout may suffer as a result.  And they unload on former George W. Bush strategist and current Never Trump ABC News figure Matthew Dowd for suggesting that we should always believe the female in “he said, she said” situations.

The problem I have with the analysis Jim and Greg have provided the last few days regarding the Brett Kavanaugh accuser is that they have all but said, if just one more woman steps up and makes a similar accusation then his nomination should be pulled.  Here’s a thought exercise gentlemen.  If enough people tell a lie does that make it the truth?  What exactly is holding back the same people from who made such a spectacle of themselves during the hearings to make similar claims?  So lots of equally vague accusations would make this nominee unqualified?  If you want an honest and thoughtful take on this situation listen to Andrew Klavan’s latest podcast.  He’s nails it.

Does it bother anyone else that there are now 3 crappy commercials during this show as well as supporter product promotion by the show team.  I pay for Ricochet and expect not to have to listen to junk commercials.  This is such a rip.  It’s hard enough to find Fair, reasoned commentary on Ricochet as so many here are Never-Trumpers.  (Mona!)  But I’ve always thought 3 Martini was pretty fair and a good discussion.  Get rid of the commercials guys.  SO annoying.

I think part of the reason Hillary lost was that “everybody” thought she would win.  Some of her voters stayed home, and some voted third party because they thought it did not matter.

Regardless of the outcome, Ford will greatly benefit from this controversy.  She is going from an obscure professor to a hero of the left.

or very hated by the left if she doesn’t testify on Monday.  I wouldn’t want to be the person that got the hopes up only to not only fail to deliver the results, but not even show up.  The left isn’t very forgiving or merciful.

She’s setting it up so that she will not testify because the FBI will not investigate.  This is to drag it out.  The left’s hope is to delay.  Unless she had solid evidence, testifying on Monday will be a major step in wrapping this up.

It does seem clear that the goal is to drag this out.  I just don’t think Mrs. Ford will get nearly acclaim of Mrs. Hill.  If she doesn’t take the stand the far left will hate her all the more for getting their hopes up.  Sen Feinstein really didn’t think this through at all.  They can say that they believe her all day long, but what does it matter when she won’t actually say anything to the committee in person.  There is no amount of spin that can make a no show before the committee look reasonable.  I think this backfires badly on the democrats.  Once again the failure of the media to ask tough questions has encouraged the democratic behavior here.   They have backed themselves into one ugly corner.  You can’t shout must be believed when the accuser won’t take the stand.
