Lots of Friday fun on today’s Three Martini Lunch! Join Jim and Greg as they celebrate the Dow Jones crossing 29,000 for the first time on Friday and enjoy an economy that is staying stronger than many experts predicted. They also slam Pete Buttigieg for suggesting the doomed Ukrainian airliner was “caught in the middle of an unnecessary and unwanted military tit for tat” instead of simply stating that it was shot down by Iran. And they dissect the stunning news that Tom Steyer is suddenly in second place among Democrats in South Carolina.

Woostahshah.
Excellent dissection of the incoherent responses by Pete Buttigieg and Tulsi Gabbard to Iran’s shootdown of a Ukrainian airliner.
What a disappointment about Tulsi Gabbard. She actually seemed like a sensible person, for a while.
But it’s probably for the best that she might actually be (almost) as loony as the others. Since it (hopefully) greatly reduces her chances of ever being elected to a serious national office, especially president.
I suppose it’s like the title of Ann Coulter’s book. If Tulsi Gabbard really had any brains, she’d be a Republican.
Given Gabbard’s support of Assad in the past and Assad’s alliance with Iran, Gabbard’s attack on Trump here for killing the top general of Syria’s main regional ally is not surprising.
As a practical matter, isolationism often leads to making excuses for mass-murdering dictators.
And then there’s this common fallacy: “Yes, he’s a mass-murdering dictator — but you can’t take him out unless you’re going to take out all of the world’s mass-murdering dictators at the same time!”
I heard a version of this about Soleimani from Juan Williams just yesterday. And I’m sure I would have heard it from Tucker Carlson, except that I don’t watch his show anymore.
