I blame Trump‘s defenders for not pointing out that a Republican President is Putin‘s nightmare.
Putin knows the Democrats are pushovers. He remembers the end game of the Cold War, in which Republicans worked to undermine the Soviet Union and its allies, while Democrats offered succor.*
He watched as Obama talked tough in Syria and then surrendered. And he is watching now as Trump kills Russian “mercenaries”.
