Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America welcome new polling showing that even in our bitterly divided, a strong majority of New Yorkers have a strongly negative opinion of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.  They also slam Texas Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro for publicizing the names of San Antonio residents who have given the maximum contribution to President Trump’s re-election campaign and declaring they are funding a campaign of hate against Hispanic immigrants.  And they roll their eyes as an MSNBC analyst insists President Trump is doing Neo-Nazis a huge favor by raising the American flag from half-staff on Thursday.

Its unfortunately difficult to sue members of congress. IF anyone gets injured or even mildly inconvenienced. How about suing Castro’s top 100 donors? Conspiracy to tyrant. Its one thing, if some nobody political motivated numskull somewhere doxes people he disagrees with – its quite another when an elected official member of a political party does it. This is reckless endangerment – he should know better, but doesnt because as a democrat he’s knows he’s not held accountable to any standard.

I disagree with the assertion that some kind of tragedy may be the only thing that ultimately tamps down the current madness.

If the next tragedy happened to more Republicans – like with the baseball-game shooting – the attitude at least behind the scenes could easily be “Well, they deserved it.”  And indeed, the actual baseball-game shooting didn’t seem to have any lasting effect on calming things down.

If the next tragedy happened to Democrats, I expect they would use it to show “See, we were right all along!  It’s those OTHER people who must be silenced, by force if necessary!”  And it would also be used to further another of their pet issues: gun control.
