The proper sort of denial from Putin: “Does he still breathe? Then we didn’t try to kill him, yet.”
That reminds me of hearing Muslims talking about how Osama Bin Laden didn’t really attack – or cause the attack on – the US, because (according to them) Osama is (was) so powerful that if he HAD attacked the US, there would be nothing left but smoking ruins. Therefore it wasn’t him. QED.
I heard just the opposite: “We Arabs are too disorganized to pull off something like this. It must have been Mossad.”
All that proves is that maybe it wasn’t an Arab government operation. But I don’t think anyone seriously claimed that it was.
I thought it was too silly an argument to require refutation. Buying plane tickets and box cutters for nineteen fanatics does not exactly require a Professor Moriarty.
How 9/11 Truthers deal with the fact that Osama bin Laden proudly claimed responsibility for 9/11, I don’t know.
On reflection, Trump’s real sin, in the eyes of the members of the Lincoln Project is that: he didn’t hire them.
